It is an eye drop containing Trehalose, Hyaluronic Acid and additional Carbomer gel (0.25%) in a preservative-free formulation that provides long-term relief in relieving dry eye symptoms. It is especially useful if you want to avoid using drops before going to sleep at night or as often as you normally do during the day. Thealoz Duo Gel is effective in three ways: Trehalose protects epithelial cells on the ocular surface, increasing their resistance to daily stress in dry environments and improving their resistance to tear film changes in dry eye. .Hyaluronic Acid helps retain water to moisturize and lubricate the eye surface. .Carbomer Gel ensures that the formulation stays on the eye longer without causing stickiness. .Liquid gel drops are offered in easy-to-use, single-dose vials that can be squeezed. It can be applied as often as needed throughout the day.

Feels gummy at first, then feels amazing. I use for RCE protection overnight.
As an RCE (recurrent corneal erosion) sufferer, I’ve relied on Muro 128 ointment for years. But occasionally, I get tired of blinding myself with what is essentially salty Vaseline before I go to bed. Someone in an RCE support group mentioned Thealoz drops, so I tried those for random daytime use. Then I tried the gel, hoping it might provide me with an alternative to Muro 128 now and then. It has worked out OK, but I think Muro 128 is probably a bit more “active” WRT its effect on your eyes. What I expected from this gel was decent lubrication and it seems to achieve that for my purposes. Like a lot of gels, it does go in thick and kind-of uncomfortable, in my experience. But after about 5 minutes it starts feeling really good … again IME. I’ll use it during the day if my eyes feel particularly scratchy and/or dry, but mainly I put a drop in each eye when I first go to bed. I usually lead with a Theoloze Duo eye drop, just to give my eyes the hydration. Let that rest and run out a bit, then add the gel. When I get up during the night, I generally will add the eye drops again to loosen and hydrate. But sometimes I’ll add gel again. It all depends on how things are feeling.Overall I’d say I have about the same RCE success (or failure?) rate with this as with Muro 128, with the added benefit of being able to see, if I need to. I can lay down and read for a bit, or whatever, whereas with Muro 128 once that’s in, I’m done for the night. With either approach, my eyes can feel grainy/sticky/dry in the morning, esp in the outer corners, so I still have to be careful opening my eyes.Note: This is NOT a recommendation for you to use this product for your RCE. I’m just relaying my individual experience. Everybody’s experience of this horrible condition is a bit different and different things work for different people. Ask your optometrist/ophthalmologist before going forward with it as an RCE management approach.

Best for dry eye
I have SEVERE dry eye. I have punctal plugs but even with those I wake up often at night in pain from dry eye. This helps me sleep a few hours at a time, better than only the hour or so of sleep I get if I don’t use it. Definitely helps me get about 4 hours of sleep before waking up to reapply. Nothing else I’ve tried has worked more than a couple of hours.

I wished it worked better.
I use this product 3-4 times a day. I realized I needed a thicker gel drop. If your eyes aren't really dry, due to medications it's ok, but if your eyes are really dry get a thicker gel drop.

Gel Drops
It’s been a good product form my dry eye condition. I use a vial in the morning and evening with regular wetting drops during the day. I would use more often but price prohibitive.
