Interesting and insightful
Fascinating, interesting, insightful and revealing. I have read a lot about Bundy, including Ann Rule’s The Stranger Beside Me, and didn’t know if there would be anything new for me in this, but there was. The book is disturbing in parts, not least because it shows how socially normal Ted Bundy appeared and how many people liked, trusted and respected him. It’s scary to think that a person who appeared so “normal” most of the time could be capable of doing the things he did. I think that’s probably the central message of the book: don’t assume you truly know the person you share your life with and don’t assume this couldn’t happen to you. Creep yet thought provoking stuff and also deeply sad, because this woman clearly loved him dearly and has suffered much as a consequence. Essential reading for any true crime lover or anyone with an interest in Bundy, or serial killers in general.

Uncovers sensitively the truth of her relationship with Bundy
I always knew this could be a harrowing read, but it is written sympathetically and fortunately does not concentrate on horrid details. Elizabeth has told the story of her relationship with Bundy and it is extremely readable and compelling. It demonstrates what lengths she went to with the police in order to find the truth. She also helps explain how she could have loved such an evil person. The last chapter is written by her daughter, and that is chilling.

Kendall as much a victim as those he killed.
I read this book within four hours of it arriving. I have a palpable distaste for anything if I feel like it’s for personal gain or romanticises the actions in any way of a sadistic killer that leaves the victims left behind but throughout Kendall addresses all the cases Bundy was involved in and is more sympathetic to their plight all throughout the book. It’s such a heart wrenchingly sad read, it’s not anything else but that really. We see how many lives are ruined by mental illness and the depravity that unfolds as a result, anyone who’s been in a difficult relationship will see the similarities and red flags we all so often choose to ignore only Kendall knowingly risked everything despite her acute awareness of what a wrongful accusation could do to the man she loved.A really brilliant, fascinating insight into the other other side of Bundy. My heart goes out to Liz and Molly, and how devastating and heart wrenching their story is.

An open account
This is a very honest, and open account of Elizabeth Koepler (Kendall)'s life with Ted Bundy. Its a must read especially if you watched the documentary, there is stuff in here that wasn't in that, her daughter's entry is extremely shocking. I could leave a huge review here because once you get on the subject of Bundy, it becomes almost endless. But I decided to let this book speak for itself. If you are interested in Bundy, buy this book!
