Bigger than I expected but is perfect for making large batches of bread dough

I bought this for my dad after his bowl was broken during a move. He was heartbroken. He is an avid bread maker and absolutely loves it!

We had a Mason Cash mixing bowl for more than 40 years. It was a wedding gift and really tough. Finally it developed hair-line cracks, and we feared it might break in use. So we ordered this new one. The ceramic of this bowl is not nearly as thick as the original. It chips very easily on the edges. The old one never chipped. It's too bad when and old and trusted brand is cheapened. The label says this bowl was made in Portugal, not England. I would not have minded paying more for better quality.

I like how these bowls are so easy to clean, and easy to hold when pouring cake batter. The have a decorative look so are a welcome sight on the counter. I’m fairly robust in my dish washing; so I am happy to report they don’t chip when I knock them around the sink with other cookware. They are the perfect weight for mixing with a wooden spoon of middle or heavy weight dough.

These are wonderful and sturdy. This was going to be part of a birthday present. However, the delivery driver literally threw this onto my porch and it shattered the lager bowl of the two that I had ordered. Thankfully it’s getting replaced. Beyond that, I have zero complaints with the ones I had ordered before.
