Velo Orange Copenhagen Dual Leg Kickstand for Bikes

An excellent kickstand for a bike. The scissor leg design folds it back compactly and neatly on the non-drive side. I had to get it installed at a bike shop as my frame unfortunately had narrow and tricky clearances and no built-in mount for the bolt, though that is more the fault of the frame than the kickstand. After about a year of use in summer, fall, and winter conditions, the finish on the bare metal has gotten a bit spackled, but this is to be expected. Likewise, the scissor mechanism has developed some play but overall it remains sturdy when folded down - just don't *keep* it folded down and under load constantly, as this may aggravate the issue. The weight of my bike and its accoutrements may also be a factor and lighter frames may never be affected the same way.

They solidly support your cycle while loading your panniers, and save your hallway and living room walls from handlebar scuffs.The Copenhagen is a beautifully engineered piece of kit. I mounted mine securely into place behind the bottom bracket on my frame in minutes and without instructions. The mechanism is sturdy and the twin legs of the stand swing purposefully into place, creating a solid platform that keeps my 28" single-speed upright and stable while I'm taking a coffee break or loading up my pannier bag. The chrome legs then spring away to the side of my chain stay, perfectly tucked away from both wheel and pedal, where they remain secure, silent and unnoticed across even the bumpiest stretch of London's finest potholed tarmac.Flip them down again with a touch of your foot, and you can relax and enjoy another coffee!After a month of use, and the Copenhagen has become an invaluable part of my daily cycles, with its durable, high-quality engineering stoically and reliably kicking in and out of action without any sign of wear or tear. Velo Orange have created the practical cyclist's dream kickstand!If you are a gram-counting, lycra-sporting member of the daily commuter pelaton, nothing anyone says will convince you to invest in something as sensible as a kickstand; even if it will change your life for the better. Personally, when it comes to all things bicycle, I think the Dutch have it right!

It fits around big mountain bike tires!!! The Pletcher double kick stand would not work so I got this.Without a built-in kickstand mount frame you'll need to make your own top and bottom plates to bridge the chain stays. That will solve the problem if the chain stays are too far apart (likely yes). Use 1/4" 1 x 12" alum bars and cut to a templates.You'll also need to find the Pletscher Kickstand Plate Adapter because it has the two plastic frame adapters with plastic studs that hold them in place. Order this and it will make sense.Then... spray paint it with flat black primer! Georgeous and works perfectly!The velcro strap will keep it quiet while you are bombing around in the wilderness.

This was one of those wow products. Simple to install, brilliant design, keeps the stand away from the chain guard and makes the bike very stable, extremely impressive. Looks good too.Absolutely brilliant bike stand

It worked well off the start but the metal broke in a matter of weeks with light use.
