Excellent sequel
This is the second book in a four book series. It picks up directly after Stormcaller ends but takes a very different turn from that first book. Whilst Isak is still a key character, others are introduced and developed well. Including vampires, daemons, rogue mages and necromancers. Again there are several different threads running through this book which makes it interesting. The bulk of the story centres around the city of Scree whose inhabitants are turning into a muderous mob due to the influence of some dark magic. The vampires are not cast in the usual role which is refreshing. Politics and faith play their part and the story comes to a blistering fight climax. In the same way that Isak grows into his leadership, so this story grows on from the first. Looking forward the Grave Thief

A cracking read
Tom Lloyd keeps the plot running at speed in the second book of the Twilight Herald.Great read for lovers of fantasy. A nice twist on the goodness or lack of, of the elves.

If you want to read a good story...
Get this book, the whole series is good. Fair enough, this is only book two, but I am loving it. the way it is written is very much in a humorous way, where I think, "Yepp, that's a snarky comment right there, hitting the spot". I like reading this book when I have a bit of spare time between training and working and sleeping. I wish I was reading a lot more because I really want to know how the story goes on, args.So yes, if you enjoy a good fantasy book with magic, monsters, and (unfortunately, annoying elves) go ahead and get this book. But please note, this book is part of a multi-book story, this is book two of the Twilight Reign saga.

Struggled quite a bit
Sorry to have to say it. But I struggled to find enough to interest me in this story. Seemed laboured at times and took me a long time to finish.

EVEN BETTER THAN THE FIRST.....
Continuing Isak and many other characters stories from 'Stormcaller', Tom Lloyd introduces the second installment in the 'Twilight Reign' series. The action picks up seriously in pace, and everything starts to feel like it is spiralling out of the characters control. New and sinister characters are introduced, and they do nothing but enrich Lloyd's spell-binding story-telling. The Twilight Herald is as brilliant as 'Stormcaller', if not better and I loved every minute of it. Never have I read a novel that has left me with so many conflicting emotions with regards to the central players.

Book 2 of the series
Follow-up to Stormcaller, brings more characters into the story, can be a bit heavy at times but not enough to put you of a good read.

Excellent Read
After stomcaller I was delighted when Twilight Herald appeared on the shelves. If you enjoyed Stormcaller then the second installment will have you really griped from start to finish. Tom Lloyd is a fantastic storyteller and I nearly missed my stop on the tube many times reading Twilight Herald. The best fantasy book I have read this year. A must for any christmas stocking.

Hard to put it down once you start
Thoroughly enjoyed this book 2. Good plot if still a complex web to get your head around. Recommended reading when you have time to indulge and keep going. I had to impose a reading curfew on my husband when he read it. Couldn't put it down!! Love the fact it is a series of 5.

The Twiligth Herald
Peor que el primero y se pierde el argumento. Aun así se puede leer y esperar que el siguiente sea mejor.

I did enjoy very much this serie. Quite different from your usual fantasy book. I hope that he continues writing. He has a lot of potential!

Nice book
The story, characters are excellent. I liked the book. However, the spelling and use of the wrong word was on every other page. I just found it hard to believe that this book could get published without having someone proof read it first.

Totally Lost!
After reading the first book, "Storm Caller" which I enjoy tremendously and rated it highly, I couldn't wait but had to get this book and the third one, "Grave Thief" (very expensive). The day I received this book, I was so full of excitement and started reading it immediately. For some reasons, the reading of this book became slower and slower. Usually when I read a book I truly enjoy I can finish it in almost one day. I had to stop reading this book many times because it got to the point I was totally confused and somewhat bored with it. I thought at first it must be me because the writer was so good with his first book. Then I skipped through the rest of the book in fast pace and found out why this book turned me off:(1) There are simply too many characters and scenes being introduced into this book without any types of orders. It jumps from one scene to another so rapdily and so frequently that the writer had completely lost me and I had no idea where the story was going.(2) The portions of this book that involved Isak were far and in between and it almost seems that he is no longer the main character of this book. It is like you go to watch a movie because you like the actor in the movie only to find out that his is not the main character. What a great disappointment.(3) Too many dialogs - while dialogs are good if they are used properly and at the right time, there are dialogs on every single page of this book. I flipped through the book and see dialogs on almost every single page. It is like watching an action movie, instead of actions, the characters just keep talking to each other. You press the fast forward button, the same people are still talking. They will talk you to death.I advise the writer to keep things "simple". It is all right to keep the story simple, cutting down the dialogs and minor characters so the story can flow smoothly. He did a great job in his first book but I believe a very poor job in this book. Two writers who can serve as an examples for him will be David Gemmell and Jim Butcher. There are almost never any boring scenes in their books, just pure actions and thrills.I now regret I have bought this book and paid so much for the third one. I just hope the third book will surprise me.I do not understand why most readers gave this book either a 4 or 5 stars. May be it is possible that I am just too impatient or their tastes are totally different than mine.Any feedbacks will be welcome.
