Beyond Freedom: Talks With Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj

All Things Nisarga
Sure, the enlightened might call me crazy for imagining myself to have become so, but I'm crazy for Nisargadatta. Can't help it. Compelled, drawn, inspired, scared. Myths of free will erode further. Into unity. It's good. Or something. Beyond. Check it out. If you want your entire persona to dissolve into its gosh-darned constantly available source, that Is. Do it.

Pure Nisargadatta
What's not to love about Nisargadatta? Later words than "I Am That" and maybe, just maybe, more profound. He seemed to think so.

My favorite Guru
Nisargadatta is my favorite Indian guru. His teachings help with the anxiety and fear caused by my over identification with my thoughts. He reminds the reader that true reality is beyond the mind.

Come, swim in the supreme
Dear seeker, if you happen to be considering this book, put your wondering mind to rest because there is no more potent, straightforward Satguru as Maharaj. When reading his words, your heart will be filled with grace and love. Reading his words is like being in the presence of your own self. Many blessings, if your earnestly follow his teachings you will abide in your eternal resting place.

Small book with big content
At barely 90 pages of recorded works one might consider it poor value, but this book will remain on your shelf to be read over and over and slower each time as you develop. It was Nisargadatta's request that his words be transcribed word for word and this has been so important in retaining its power across all of the Maharaj's editors. As a consequence, it will be difficult at times to really know the context and thus how words are being used. I believe this is a common response to his works but as he says himself "I am not talking to you, I am talking to your consciousness" and somehow this seems to work. It comes out in the end. This book is not kindergarten spirituality, again as quoted so a solid and long term spiritual interest may be required, or starting out with "I Am That" to help orient the reader to these later works as he approached the end of his physical life.Nisargadatta again goes for eliminating all ego responses, so at times he seems rude and intollerant but in so doing he cuts right to the essential heart - your own heart and consciousness begins to grow out of the mind based ego. Take it a page or two at a time and let it sink in.Highly Recommended.

A must for any 'seeker'
It seems to me that Sri Nisargadatta was a man who truly knew reality. In this small book, he answers the deepest questions that people ask.'Identify with the body, suffer with the body.'

A thouroughly enchanting book
I have read a lot of the literature around Revered Nisargadatta Maharaj. This book is important because these are his later utterances and subtly modify some of his earlier teachings. In a section he also comments that his teachings are not complete without reading this interview. Overall a very important book for those who wish to discover what they already are.

A remarkable book
simple and direct: If you like Nisargadatta Maharaj, you have to read it. But, don't read the book looking for I Am That, it's other style.

i could read only a couple of pages
I find 'i am that' by nisargadatta very powerful and have read it many times. from 'beyond freedom' , however, I did not get much except stories of a couple of incidents from the life of nisargadatta.
