Great added protection
I love the added protection this "skin" adds to my impact tool. It was very easy to install, but I would suggest letting it soak in hot water a few minutes to soften it up before trying to stretch it over your impact gun.

Must buy to protect your expensive tool.
Perfect fit and good protection for my IR-212. Takes a bit of strength to get it onto the tool but fits like a glove. BTW, don't be shy when putting it on, the material will stretch and take a lot of abuse. If careful you won't likely tear the material, it's pretty tough stuff.

WOW... The reviewers are not kidding this ...
WOW...The reviewers are not kidding this boot is a bear to slip on. I used a hair dryer to soften it and still was tough to install. You can heat this until it's soft, but doesn't get any softer past a certain point. That said once it's on it does the job of protecting the tool as well as your work from damage. I hope I never have to take it off.I give it 5 stars because it does what it's supposed to do.It also fits other IR models (1702P) with the same frame configuration.

Ingersoll Rand must have protective boot
It fit perfect, as it should, being it came from the manufacturer. The one I replaced had been on for 20 years easily. They really protect your tool from getting all beat up looking. My impact looked almost new when I removed the old one. There have been lots of reviews that say its very hard to get on. I had very little trouble slipping mine on. Great product, wouldn't go without. All my air tools have protective boots, and they look practically new. I highly recommend.

Good impact gun protector
I love these boots. If you're prone to dropping or dragging your air guns, either by accident or on purpose, then this boot is a no brainer. The last one of these boots I had lived for twelve years on my last IR 212 3/8 gun. A beginners hint for the installation of this boot: soak it in very hot tap water for a couple minutes, dry quickly and thoroughly, and squeeze it onto the gun while still warm and pliable.
