This is part of a sanity saver.
This is part of an electric infant swing. Why the makers of infant swings and mobiles don't make more plug in electric items is a mystery. Making sure you have batteries or the ability to change the batteries quickly while an infant is crying can be very unsettling for a new parent. In this case the swing is being passed to a family member getting ready to deliver twins. Hopefully it will be like an extra pair of hands when she needs it.

I bought a different cord for my Fisher Price elephant safari swing but it didn't work. I bought this one, the Fisher Price brand and it works! So glad I can use this cute hand-me-down swing from my sister!
