Needed a new crimper after my old one started to miss pins. Thought I'd give the passthrough crimpers a go. They work really well, less trimming and more consistent terminations since you can push the pairs in to the depth you want.Only thing I wish it had is a standard crimp for those times you run out of the passthrough ends or are in a pinch and only have regular rj45 connectors. You can sort of crimp the non-passthroughs, but you have to really finesse it.The cable tester is nothing fancy, but it works as you'd expect. Better to have one than none at all.

Like: This uses Pass-thru wires, extend thru the RJ45 connector and get cut at crimp time. Much easier than the insert and pray style connectors.Like: Connectors are good quality.Dislike: Would have liked some rubber boots thrown into the kit.Dislike Seriously! : There is no cable wire stripper. Must purchase as a separate item. How costly to the CFO's bonus would it be to throw that into the kit. It's plastic and a blade. C'mon Klein.Would I buy again? Might check out some cheaper alternatives that give more in the kit, but I was very pleased with the connections and ability to test after making it. The tester is great.

Just the crimping tool at Home Depot alone is more expensive than the combo here. This was my first time making Ethernet cable and let me tell you the included pass through connectors make it certain you get the wire done correctly. I wish the included tester could test each wire in the Ethernet cable separately but the price would be more. The tester is one of the best I’ve used and buying this combo was a great purchase. Would absolutely recommend 👍🏽

My son and I loved using this kit, as we are not IT and/or Low Voltage guys, but we where able to get our cameras up and running with this tester and replaced a damaged clip with the provided tools.

Bought this kit to try pass-through connectors. Yes, they are a little easier to work with but after a while, I question whether it was worth buying this kit when I already had the tools to crimp standard connectors. In any case, the crimp tool and the cable tester both work with no issues so Im not dissatisfied with the kit.

It is a simple tester to see if your cable is wired right or not I wish I got a better meter to diagnose the cable pin by pin so I could see why my cable is midwifed Love the pass through cable ends and crimper saves me a lot of time and waisted ends I would recommend to my friends and family

If you had purchased a kit for lan cable termination.... You may have found you went through many crimps before getting a successful calcination made.With this simple, Low profile set I made a test cable successfully on the first try ..The tester is intelligent. It does not tell you each pair. It does tell you; good/short/open... And does separate for remote testing in a small form factor.The crimper is small... And worksWould buy this again
