Absolutely great ring saw
Used exclusively for gem and glass cutting. Bought this to add to my shop's existing slabsaw and bandsaw. Cuts straight with practice and not having too constantly rotate the workpiece is wonderful. Much less messy than other saws with very directed and contained water flow. I does take you awhile to get used to NOT rotating the workpiece. Would recommend.

great stone, glass, tile, "scroll saw"
works beautiful and not very loud(headset with ipod and can hear slightly). bought to cut tile, glass, natural stone, marble etc. for stain glass precision cuts as well as cutting tile for intricate mosaic work. For a wet saw very clean and not a lot of splash. I am using the Mega blade for the tile work however i would definitely purchase the standard and split blades to have. I cut stone and brick all the time but this makes detail cutting a pleasure and possible. The only thing so far to remember is the limited throat depth which limits the design. but that is where the standard blade would come in handy because it cuts in 360 degrees unlike the megablade which cuts front and back with limited side to side, due to the tear drop shape. This is the equivalant to a stone scroll saw. The youtube videos are not miss leading, watch and make up your own mind. Happy cutting!

Easy to use a great time saver
Saw is amazing. Set up was easy. Works as advertised and makes intricate cuts surprisingly easy. I hesitated due to price but am glad I bought it. Band saw users give them up and use this!

Great Ring Saw!
This is my first ring saw. For those of us who are used to using a band saw this takes a little practice learning how to go around the blade and not just a straight vertical pull. It's ja little less than 10 lbs and at barely 18" wide it fits nicely on my kitchen counter next to my grinder. The customer Service rep (Barbara) is amazing, and wonderfully patient. My red water tub didn't have a water level line. Use 1 gallon of water so that it comes up to the middle of the lowest blue wheel (see page 5 - bottom of "unpacking your machine" column). The gray curved piece with the two red gear wheels is a blade stabilizer. When it comes out of the box it's at its lowest position. I unscrewed the side Phillips screw and raised it up as high as it would go and then tightened it so that the blade was visible and there was room to move the glass around the blade. (see page 10 )

Fantastic product well worth the money.
This purchase proved to be an excellent choice. I recently completed two very intricate windows using this saw, one with 250 small pieces and a second with 400+ pieces. Make no mistake, there is a learning curve. There is just no substitute for practicing with the saw. The more you use it, the better you get. I was able to make very accurate and very complex cuts that would have been impossible using traditional cutting techniques, but it took practice. This saw comes with Gemini's "mega" blade. After cutting over 600 pieces of glass, the blade shows no sign of significant wear. Good thing because the replacement blade is not cheap. This saw is fantastic for making intricate curved cuts. I would not recommend it for long, straight cuts that are best done with traditional glass cutters. Assembly is simple, and usage is straight forward. Periodically changing the water is essential. Best thing I can say is: I had fun using this saw. It made it possible to make cuts that using traditional methods, would have been difficult or impossible.

Not cheap, but very effective.
I was nervous about spending the money for this tool, especially after reading a few of the reviews, but was persuaded by the large number of positive reviews. I have used this saw extensively in my last 4 projects and absolutely love it. It makes cutting intricate pieces a breeze. I will be using this any time I need to include pieces that need to be a particular and precise shape. Negatives: the spinning of the blade throws water onto the safety shield, making it difficult to see cut lines. The light in my saw flickers on and off, also making it difficult to see at times. And I wish the length of the arm were greater, as I have several times had to find a way to work around the shadow depth to finish a cut. Positives: Many! I love how accurately I can cut, in spite of the issues I mentioned. Standard tile materials cut very easily. Some plates offer a challenge, and the standard blade snapped on one especially hard plate. (That was after about 30 hours off use.) I replaced it with the Mega blade and have used that blade since. I prefer the standard - it's more maneuverable. The water basin should be emptied and cleaned regularly to help keep the water pure of ceramic bits and debris. I definitely recommend this saw. It has been very useful for me.
