Gravity

A very good introduction of Gravity to laymen
I knew little about gravity before reading this book. Now I understand what gravity is and how it works. The writing style is lucid and quite easy to follow. Gamow was a great physicist and an exceptionally good expositor!

Only for beginners
If you think You'll learn the deepest secrets of gravity or get a firm conceprual grip on general relativity ..You are wrong .This book is meant for the entusiastic precalculus student who barely know Newtonian gravity Mr Tompkins itself has more on the matter

Gravity for Laymen!!
An abs. gem of a deal. For less than 200/- you get a reprint of Gamow's book 'Gravity'. If you have ever wondered why tides happen in tandem on opposite sides of the planet (explaining the one closer to the sun/moon is easier) OR wanted to understand why people sometimes refer to earth as a spinning top (hint: it's not cause it just spins), read this book!!! On the other hand, if you wondered why explaining of falling of an apple is a big deal, definitely read this book!! (Cause you also have to explain why moon doesn't fall and a 100 other things).I must also say there are a few spelling errors but I guess that doesn't take away the value of this gem!

Excellent content and book quality
The book needs no introduction. Though quite dated, it’s an excellent read. I purchased the hardcover version from general press. The book quality was great and the price was reasonable
