Product: SuLiao Magnetic Hourglass 5 Minute Sand TimerPros: Looks nice, magnetic sand makes interesting shapes for the first minute or so.Cons: Continually clogs up, so it's useless as a timer.Would I buy it again? No.I bought this as a gift to use as a tea timer, but it's unusable for any purpose. Sometimes the sand stops after a few seconds. Maybe the granules are too large or the magnetic sand has a tendency to clump. Very disappointing.

I did not purchase this for decoration which it would have done nicely. I needed a timer. It was constantly getting clogged and never once worked as a three minute timer. I returned it because I needed a three minute timer.

Con: The 5 minute hourglass/version has too much sand and the hole is too narrow so the sand gets stuck and frequently stops mid timer (about 2-3 minutes in and sometimes again after that). It'll resume if you tap the glass to shake the iron filings, but obviously that defeats the purpose.Con: Also, the magnet is (probably) the same size as the shorter timers so it's not nearly strong enough to have any effect on 5 minutes worth of iron filings, there's just too much, so when the timer's done it's just a flat pile of dust.Pros: It's still a very nice decoration piece for a modest price, and the iron filings do show the "spiky" effect in the first 2 minutes or so (but after that it overwhelms the magnet). As simply a decoration piece it does stand out, it just doesn't work as advertised.TLDR: As a timer it fails, get the 2 minute version or shorter so it doesn't stop multiple times. As a decoration piece it stands out and looks interesting, that is until someone turns it over and the sand stops falling halfway...
