Nitro 3-Jar Mixer Grinder, 550-Watt

Quality of grinding is good. One defect is that the top lid of the large jar is fixed. So it takes a lot of time to vent especially if grinding hot items. So plan on time when making soups etc. My older Preethi from 2004 had a removable top lid to allow venting. Other than this issue, no other flaws noted. Quite happy as long as you use it to grind cooled or room temperature items.

I was in for disappointment, since there is nothing "Nitro" about this product and here's why: 1.Terrible quality of plastic/fiber used. Lid/Jar is very flimsy. The wire cord looks like it has just been replaced by an electrician to suit Canadian/US markets. The lids are so tight which makes it difficult to open and close while grinding, you have to literally fight with it! 2.Makes so much noise (twice as much as a vacuum cleaner) that may scare your neighbours. Having said that, the contents inside the jar take a very long time to grind, even for something as easy as chutney . The blades are useless! 3.Out of the 3 jars, the smallest one which comes exclusively for making Chutney is the only one that is slightly better from among the two however the "grind and store" mechanism suggested DOES not work! If the "Grind and store" jar is used to make chutney , you will take forever to make a small batch! Also the quality of the grind and store jar is pathetic, cheap plastic material! 3.Total waste of money for something as cheap as this one and would never recommend this product!

The mixer works fine and the product seems to be a good one. Had to send one back as it looked a bit used but the second one that arrived was new and fresh. The quality could have been a bit better but I think with Indian cooking, no one can come close. All in all great mixer and good product.

Bought this Preethi Nitro on May 22nd, 2014. Today is August 12th, 2014 -- with very less use (Avg 1-2 time use in a week) and 60 days of use the Grinder is dead. It started with unusual sound today and in 15-30 seconds it is DEAD ! I think I've a protection plan -- anyways I'm trying to contact the seller/amazon. I'll keep you posted. I'm giving the lowest possible rating 1 STAR! Edited - August 13th, 2014. I noticed a (fuse) reset button down the Grinder and that brought the Grinder back to life. It's working now again. So changing my ratings to 4 STARS now. Edited - Nov 05th, 2014. REDUCING RATING BACK TO 1. Now the RESET button below is no longer helping. It's NOT 100% dead, it works when it wants to or if give a BANG!! on the top :)). It's funny ! I'm DONE with this, cant waste time on this, so I called up Amazon customer to report this issue, they won't return but asked me to contact the seller based in India. I tried calling the seller (in India) -- but no response. But I remembered I purchased a Square Trade Warranty for 3 yrs. I contacted them today and they will refund me the amount. NOTE: PLEASE KEEP AWAY FROM THIS MODEL! I'm going to try "Preethi Steele Mixer Grinder with Turbo Vent and Improved Couplers"

So far so good, got all accessories and spare parts.. i just thought that its little overpriced as compared to other competitive brands in USA but when you need a desi brand and stainless steel containers then its OK to pay that extra bucks.. i will revisit the review in case i face any issues after some days of use
