At first glance I was a bit skeptical. The head appeared to be cast instead of forged. It has held up to throwing very well, however. It is tough steel and sticks well. I love the design, and it has become my favorite throwing ax. My only complaint is the handle. It was not finished well where the head mounts. The wood is rough, and the head goes almost to the very end of the handle. I will probably have to replace the handle as it wears from the impact of throwin, but for now it works great. Definitely worth the money.

This axe is exactly what I was looking for, I did put a larger handle on it just cause that's what I wanted but the axe head is perfect, it has a great weight for throwing or combat if that's what you want and even for light chopping but if you want a serious chopping tool that will cut through small/medium trees then get something else, the steel is good and will take that kind of treatment but the weight isn't there for efficient heavy chopping to be done but the craftsmanship on this axe is definitely 5 stars (a side note it does come blunt for shipping reasons but taking it to a hardware store for professional sharpening is a good investment for having a proper tool)

Better than I originally thought. Arrived VERY dull (blunt). Had trouble sharpening it at first and complained. Now I feel bad. After having it properly ground, I LOVE IT! Keep in mind, I didn't buy this as a throwing implement. I like viking things that are functional. It wasn't when I bought it, and now it is.

Its okay but the handle just doesn’t fit Right

Love this axe... Good weight, throws well, looks amazing... Only criticism is the handle.. The blade isn't fixed to the handle but that is easy enough to fix quickly and inexpensively

Made for throwing and it sticks! Put an edge on it and throw till your heart's content.
