It attaches between the seat post and handlebar stem using spring-loaded hooks, which makes setup fast and tool-free. Once in place, it provides a stable connection for transport. The internal spring holds tension well, and the plastic-coated hooks prevent paint scratches. It fits most adult bikes comfortably, though the bar has a somewhat utilitarian feel — it’s more functional than refined. The spring mechanism can feel stiff at first, and smaller riders may need both hands to stretch it into place. Still, for the price, it’s hard to beat. It solves the fit problem perfectly for beach cruisers and step-through bikes, and it holds up fine for occasional use or road trips.
