Buy them! These are hard to find!
I had been looking for large plastic pastry tips for over a year and a half and I happened to find these while I was browsing through cake decorating supplies. It is very difficult to get large tips like these unless you are actually in the baking/pastry industry because the brands that sell them only sell to professionals. These tips are very large compared to the standard size Wilton tips that are available in stores, and do pump out a lot of frosting. However, if you want your cupcakes or cakes to look like they do in a bakery case or in pictures on the internet, use these tips. Large tips make those big, beautiful swirls you see on Youtube tutorials and in pictures. They also require less effort to produce a cupcake swirl than smaller tips because you don't have to loop the frosting around so many times and it requires less pressure (than it would with a 1M or 2A from Wilton) to create a larger swirl. Don't worry about using couplers with these tips (most of the time even with smaller tips you don't need them), you can just pop them in your bag, but make sure you cut the hole for the tip snug enough for it to stay put. They are easy to wash and you don't have to worry about them rusting (metal ones don't always hold up the best depending on what brand you get) because they are plastic. They also come in a convenient storage case. If you have been interested in very large tips to get professional looking results, buy these tips because finding them is extremely difficult for amateur bakers.

Comes in All the Size and Shapes You Need
Don’t waste time testing a dozen piping tips — this kit has everything you need. Between the 6 piping tips in this, it has something for every task: cookies, cake icing, detailed designs, etc. I specifically was looking for tips for piping butter cookies, but found these tips can really work for anything. They are big enough for dough like cookies and churros, but also some are small enough for me to detailed icing work. What really impressed me was the value. I had previously bought 4 individual tips (around $4–5 each) , but ended up returning them. With this set you pay $8 for 6, which is a much better bang for you buck that buying individual ones. Before you order a whole bunch of different tips looking for the perfect size and design, save yourself the time and money and just buy this kit, especially if you are looking for a size 8 piping tip!

I use disposable bags with theses and they work fine.
Not tube and tip set! This is just the tips and don't purchase the Standard Couplers that are shown on the page. They will not fit this tip! I spent most of the moring that I received these looking for the correct coupler. Well Ateco does not make a coupler that goes with these. I looked on the sit that sells these and they only show the standard coupler that is on Amazon. And that site is a jumbled mess. Anyway! I downloaded the catalog from Ateco and they have no coupler for this set of tips. Maybe one from another company will work with these, but I pipe only one size at a time, so don't really need to change tips. I use disposable bags with theses and they work fine.

A Nice Collection of Large Pastry Tips
This set consists of five large pastry/frosting tips that are usually not found in boxed sets of ordinary decorative frosting tips. They are commercial quality and made of heavy stainless steel rather than merely plated like many of the less expensive brands found in hobby stores. If washed and dried completely after each use, these should last for years. Included in the set are: 804 - a plain, round tip with a medium sized opening 864 - a French star tip with medium sized opening 846 - a closed star tip with a large sized opening 808 - a plain, round tip with a large sized opening 827 - an open star tip with a large sized opening 898 - a basketweave tip with a large sized opening The last number of each tip refers to the relative size of the tip opening, the higher the number, the larger the opening. The 808 and 827 tips are perfect for frosting cupcakes with a large swirl finish. The 808 or 804 can be used for filling pastry shells or mini muffin tins with batter. The 864 and 827 tips are used for a more decorative star design finish or embellishment. I found that the open star and basketweave tips were too large to use with a medium coupler and a pastry bag. Instead, I used disposable pastry bags without a coupler and cut the end of the bag to fit the largest of the tips. While I'm still looking for some extra large tips for use with choux pastry, this set is a good addition to my baking tools and I use them often. Recommended.

Great LARGE Tips!
These tips are of beautiful quality! I am a newbie to using a pastry bag and tips but I needed the pastry bag for making macarons. I love cooking so it was just a matter of time before purchasing a pastry bag. Ateco seems to have the best reviews, and most used by commercial and/or serious home bakers. I am very satisfied with my purchase of these nice stainless steel tips. I only had one issue and that was with Amazon recommending standard couplers being purchased with these. As a result I purchased a set of 4 couplers for which I currently have no use. Being a newbie to using a pastry bag, I had no idea about different size tips vs. couplers. These tips didn't have "large" in the description, so unfortunately it didn't even occur to me. While I typically read reviews, this time I just saw the stars indicating high ratings for these tips and just bought them along with the suggested couplers. The tips themselves should not lose stars due to Amazon's incomplete description. I'll inevitably require another pastry bag with standard tips so I will have another use for those other couplers sometime in the future. But it did require me to additionally purchase the large couplers and pay extra for quicker shipping because I had a time constraint.

Wondering which tips #s (& what sizes) are in this set? So was I....
I was looking for tips/tubes (Ateco calls them tubes and Wilton calls them tips -- confusing. I'm calling them *tips*). Specifically, i wanted large tips that are a size similar to Wilson 1M (what i call a large star tip and is readily availabe at big-box craft stores). Makes me crazy that listings for these things don't include the # and that there is no standard description for size. I created my own standard nomenclature for tip sizes: regular, large and extra large. I considered ordering a similar tip set from Bake It Pretty but the $8 shipping seemed rediculous. This 6pc set seemed like it could be right-on to suit my needs as a over-achieving-@home-cupcake-baker. The tips are indeed larger then regular tips (such as Wilton 12). Three are large and fit on a large plastic coupler. And three are extra large so they won't fit on a large coupler. The three large are Ateco tips #804 (round/plain), #864 (star) and #846 (closed star). The three extra large are Ateco tips #827 (French star), #808 (round/plain) and #898 (basket weave). I call the plain ones round because, well, the opening is round-- makes sense right? These numbers are clearly marked on the Ateco box so why can't the listing include them? It would save a lot of time and frustration to just list the sizes, numbers and descriptions for each tip and cut the confusion. The information was not available on Ateco's website either. So here it is and I hope it saves someone else some time and frustration. Amazon has frustration proof packaging so why not frustration proof product descriptions for tips?
