## Description

The original Marcato pasta machine offers iconic & timeless style. Perfect in it's simplicity, it can be used to prepare three shapes of pasta: lasagne, fettuccine and tagliolini. Available in 2 versions: 150 & 180. Ampia 150 produces pasta sheets with a max width of 150mm (6") while Ampia 180 produces pasta sheets with a max width of 180mm (7"). Adjustment knob with 10 clear positions for desired pasta thickness. Stable and sturdy thanks to easy-to-fix clamp. Easy to clean: Let sit out for at least 30 minutes and then clean off remaining dough residue with a dry cleaning brush. Compatible with the separately available Pastadrive Motor. 100% made and assembled in Italy. Since 1930 Marcato has been passionate about developing products that make people happy. Review: Perfect machine - works like a Rolls Royce - Perfect/ottimo. I have owned 3 pasta machines previously. Two were not inexpensive machines that while they looked in the surface to be identical to those made by Mercato and the other major Italian manufacturer Imperia - they were made in China. Both were difficult to use because the dough stuck to them and both broke after two uses in one case and 4 uses in the other. The metal parts were flimsy and had razor sharp edges that served to catch and chew up the dough passing through the rollers. Truly Chinese rubbish - and neither cheap - also although different "makes" they had a nasty smell of oil. I then bought a Mercato machine for use in our Italian holiday house and never looked back. During lockdown fancying some decent fresh pasta I ordered this Ampia machine. It works like a Rolls Royce. The section to make futtucine and "spaghetti" is built in and not detachable unlike some models by the same manufacturer. This means you cannot slot in other attachments for other shapes but this didn't bother me. The dimensions in the drop down menu on the desertcart order section are not correct. The machine is not anywhere near that big. Look further down in the product description and you will see the correct sizes which are those of a normal domestic machine. Easy to use, no sticking to the rollers, a doddle to dust and wipe clear (I use a paper towel).

**Q: can it roll dough to 3/16" thick?**
A: It can definitely roll the dough that thin, and even thinner. It just gets harder and harder the more your trying to make it thin. Definitely have flour handy, and be prepared to catch really long dough, thin and long dough.

**Q: My cleaning lady threw away the vice clamps of my machine, can I buy a separate one?**

A: ?? What is the question? If you want just a handle Google the request. You may need to contact the company for parts

**Q: Why is it stainless steel?**
A: At a guess, I'd say the pasta maker is stainless steel for the strength, weight, and durability of that material.  Stainless, of course doesn't rust, which is an important characteristic of any kitchen tool.  Steel can withstand the considerable force involved in cranking out stiff dough. They could have used, say, cast aluminum, but in the case of this machine, aluminum's relative light weight (usually a selling point!) would probably be a deficit; the force you need to apply to the crank could overbalance the machine or cause it to shift around annoyingly on your work surface. Plus, there's the cost; stainless steel is considerably cheaper than aluminum, or any similar-weight, rust-proof metal. Hope that helps.

The product has excellent quality! Works very well and it is easy to clean. It is not so versatile though. Because it doesn’t have the removable attachement, you’ll be limited in 2 types of pasta. Overall, it attends my needs very well.
