How would these hold up outside exposed to rain and elements?

I haven’t tried it but I would think that the adhesive wouldn’t hold up for long

I want to use as a chin rest cover on a violin - does it smell ?

I use mine in a wood shop where everything smells like oak, cedar, pine etc. I cant tell if these are offensive smelling but they do smell like rubber which may dissipate over time.
