O-Ring Rebuild Repair Kit for Pentair/Sta-Rite Dynamo

Ordered this kit for the very common, almost ubiquitous Pentair Sand Dollar Filter and 1.5HP motor/pump assembly for my 27 ft above ground pool after the bearings began screeching from 8 years of use.This kit comes with an exploded view parts list, o-rings, 2-piece spring energized shaft seal, and small tube of o-ring and seal lubricant. Worked perfectly and easily to reseal the pump section, even the thumbscrew o-rings and the large threaded outlet hose o-ring.To quiet the two bearings, you have to order them separately, and get a $30 set of 3 arm bearing pullers from Harbor Freight or Amazon. I got a free 5 gal bucket going to my local Harbor Freight though.When you take the assembly apart to reseal the pump, you might as well take the extra time to replace the annoying and loud old bearings. The shaft takes a 7/16 in open end to hold, and the governor assembly has to be taken off to do that. Take both springs off, then gently pry the base open enough to get the contact pivot out, then you can use the wrench and slotted screwdriver to remove the assembly.

My pump was leaking so bad... "HOW BAD WAS IT?!" ... It was so bad that it kept tripping the gfci from shorting out the motor! I bought this bad boy and, I kid you not, in 30 minutes the problem was corrected. Now there are two things that I would change with this kit. One would be to tell me which large O-ring I need. There was one left over which I assume is for a different model pump. The second is have in the instructions where I should apply the O-ring grease. All the O-rings? Some of them? It is a little confusing. It has definitely fixed my problem with the leak to say the least. I am above mechanically inclined, having worked on cars, machinery and am an engineer, so it may take the average Joe more than 30 minutes.
