That's Just Prime!
This guy is actually better than I thought! I never cared for the beast machines line, but I'm a prime collector, so I ordered this guy... and he's huge! As in as tall as the newest commander class Jetfire from siege! Just be sure to remove the batteries... the jet pack doesn't shut up for a while lol.

Cool collector piece - if you ignore the price tag
Celebrate the 20th anniversary of Beast Wars with this repaint of a toy from 2001's "Robots in Disguise" line that was originally intended for 2000's "Beast Machines" line in a color scheme reminiscent of Generation One Optimus Prime!Sarcasm (and Hasbro's choice to mostly ignore the Beast Wars series' 20th anniversary) aside, this isn't one that a fan of the original Beast Wars TV series will be super excited for. This toy is just a continuation of the annual "Year of the" Chinese New Year specials that we've been getting since 2011's Year of the Dragon Ultimate Optimus Prime from Dark of the Moon. Beast Wars toy collectors, on the other hand, will love this piece. It's a fantastic companion for the old Air Attack Primal in the same way Primal Prime is a cool companion for Optimal Optimus. If all that has you lost, well, this one's probably not something to spend the absolutely insane $149.99 price tag on. It should be noted I purchased this on sale, otherwise I may never have bought it.As for the toy itself, this is exactly what Transformers fans have been claiming to miss for years. That is, it's big, beefy, well put together, weighty, and feels like a quality product. Since that's what Transformers collectors say they want, most will probably skip this piece since it actually says "Transformers" on the box and costs more than $40. There are a lot of electronic sound effects and some light up areas as well, including "WWE Babyface" jungle island jam music and "Optimus Primal's Heel Turn" hard rock riff, both of which try to sound like they're from the Beast Wars TV show without actually being from the show. There's also some voice clips of him saying things like "Transformers" as well as his own name, kinda like Matt Damon in Team America. It growls too. The guy that did the voices was probably just the accountant that realized they didn't have the budget to actually hire or sample Garry Chalk, but for an accountant he did a pretty good job with the script he was given. The toy does include batteries installed, so you can live out your Beast Wars adventure right away, or just annoy your wife. Sealed box collectors should take note of this, as pre-installed batteries means that if you keep this sealed away for 20 years it will be ruined by battery acid leakage. The instructions aren't bad, and as this is intended as a collector's piece they do just fine. If buying this for a child (an actual one, not a man-child) do be aware that the instructions leave out a couple of steps, such as how to properly clip the robot's shoulder armor over the ape's wrists, but nothing horribly egregious is left out. Kids will probably also like the motion activated sounds that can be made by deploying the robot's jet pack and then whoosing it around in the air. I enjoyed this too, but probably because it visibly upset our dog, meaning hilarity ensued. As a long time Transformers collector, I think this is a fun piece and definitely a quirky, yet somehow fitting, addition to my Beast Wars/Beast Machines toy collection. Kids will probably like it too. The price is way too high though, which will likely limit the appeal for most.
