Perfect purchase!
I moved to NYC on a particularly hot and humid 95'F day. This arrived the day I moved in and my cat and I were able to enjoy a cool night in our new home. Otherwise, we would have been scorched! It has a auto/energy save option which will turn it on/off to regulate the temp you set. Also has an iFeel feature that the remote senses the temp in whatever part of the room you have the remote in. Its quiet and doesn't bother our sleep. Glad I spent more for the 10,000btus. It was easy to set up and use immediately. What a lifesaver!

It Cools pretty good, but....
.... the air conditioner is loud, even on low fan. It does do a good job of cooling a fairly large bedroom though and I've had it for two years now without any problems. The remote works OK. But the a/c is noisy and I wish that I would have bought a more quiet model.

Buy a different brand
We bought 5 of these unites 3 of them have already gone down in 5 months do to the area I am working in we cannot return them. These ac unites are not built well ge or frigidaire are the best to get most of them have to be serviced once a year and replace every 2 to 6 years.
