The Matrix RP-17 series is an exciting laptop equipped with AMD's next generation Ryzen processor and paired with a full performance (*cough* non Max-Q) NVIDIA RTX graphics card. It also includes a proper thermal design (*cough*cough* no blocked vents) which allows this hardware to show it's true potential. Who would have thought using a color accurate panel in this day & age wasn't the norm, but we're living in a strange world, so we'll let everyone get the memo later! Great Laptop!
I purchased directly from the Eluktronics website really early on, back in May I think. I have had my RP-17 for about 1 month now. I love it! It's about the perfect balance of speed, power, portability and price. Overall it's just about as fast as my home built gaming computer, but it draws only about 1/4 as much power. That's amazing. The screen is great. The keyboard is great. The web cam is average, not terrible but not great. The speakers are good, not bad, but not great. The cpu and gpu are absolute BEASTS, they are amazing. I ran a lot of benchmarks. In cpu weighted tests it beats my desktop by a good margin - Ryzen 2700X. In GPU weighted tests it's also ahead of my GTX 1070 in some tests, but I'm not a professional reviewer. Here's some of the benchmarks: Desktop / EluktronicsCinebench R20: 3789 / 4428Valley: 3261 / 3873Time Spy: 6171 / 6630Superposition: 12055 / 12566 (Medium)Superposition: 3368 / 3887 (Extreme)PassMark CPU: 16,742.3 / 20,657.6So, I am really impressed with the performance of this laptop for the price. It also runs very cool for how fast it is. The battery life for me is average to good. On normal to gaming mode - 2 to 3 hrs. On office mode - 5 - 6 hrs.--- Update 08/27/20---I was initially concerned about the video driver not being able to be updated manually by me. I ran the Nvidia scan tool and it said that with this video card I have to contact the laptop manufacturer for the update. So, I contacted Eluktronics support over the phone. I got through within about 1 minute which is normal for my experience, as I have called them several times to ask various questions. I asked about if there was an updated video card driver for the RP-17 and the person said yes, and emailed me immediately a link to it on their company Google drive folder. I downloaded it and it installed correctly. It was version 451.67, 07/09/20. As to why the updated video driver is not available on the "support" page for the RP-17 I did not ask, but I would imagine that it is just a growing pain glitch for the company. Their phone support is OUTSTANDING!---Update 10/02/20---This laptop is still rocking! Also I found that by using the nvcleanstall program from Techpowerup website I can now update to the latest Nvidia drivers as they are released.

Beast
I like the stealth exterior, does not scream gamer. The backlit keyboard is nice with great key stroke for a laptop. It's relatively light, but packs one hell of a punch. Also NO bloteware, the only thing installed is 1 monitoring software for adjusting keyboard backlight, cpu, ram, gpu, and fan curve. Other than that it's vanilla windows 10. Highly recommended

Driver issues ahead
One of the biggest headaches I've ever run into when using a laptop long term. USB ports stopped working and trying to manage them drove me insane. Drivers for this brand are packaged up in their own website and what seems like behind typical update schedules.Because my usb ports now don't work, I can't use external devices, I can't back up my data, I can't use a usb DAC, but most importantly of all, I can't even install new Windows copies (or worse yet, Linux). Everything is locked down in the worst way possible, and I cannot possibly give enough advice to steer you away from this brand. They're cheap because the quality is cheap.

RP-15 4800H + 2060 + 1tb NVME + 32GB RAM version
Pros:-Small and quite light which works well for the job I do which requires being on a ship.-Has crushed every game so far that I have put on High graphics at 1080p (witcher 3, WT, Hellblade, Metro series).-Has an extra NVME slot for the more than likely needed upgrade to a 2TB later in a year.-Keys almost feel mechanical but I find them well enough for the job.Cons/But not terrible cons-Few USB slots. I prefer using USB say over using a wireless mouse/headset. Just a weird preference of mine. 1 USB on the left side and 2 on the right. Left side tends to be a little bit of a tighter fit. Wish they would of put another one on the left side but oh well no biggie.-Fans can be a bit loud when under full load but with a headset you can barely hear it. Might be annoying to others nearby. Suppose I could tinker with the FAN RPM values but I'm too lazy. (Compared to my ROG laptop I bought 5 years ago with a 980Y, that one was damn near silent but was also a chunky boy).Quite a powerful little laptop in such a small package! Eluktronics sure killed it with this laptop configuration.

Good device with lots of minor issues.
This laptop performed well for the price but had a lot of minor issues that lead to me returning it.1. Speakers are crap. I would have alerts set up and could barely hear on the other side of the room (have no problem on my older laptop half this price).2. Very annoying issue with the function keys. They default to function first, ie if you hit F1 it goes to sleep instead of having to hit Fn+F1... There is a setting in the BIOS to change this but it does nothing. Both settings result in the same behavior. So if you want to use the F keys as hotkeys in games like I do every single time you turn on the laptop you have to hit Fn+ESC to switch the behavior or the first time you hit F1 in game the laptop goes to sleep. Lovely. Judging from past threads this has been an issue going past months, support said they were working on it when I reported it.3. Keyboard lighting - Main issue here is the keyboard lights will not turn back on after waking up from sleep. You have to fully restart the laptop. Saw many other users having this issue, appears to be recent. Another issue that popped up for me is the keyboard lights stopped automatically coming on upon bootup (despite enabling in the Eluk control panel) and I would have to turn on with the Fn keys every time.4. The placement of the touchpad and especially the enable/disable button in the top left of the touchpad resulted in my palm constantly turning the touchpad on and off during gameplay sessions. So there you go, all minor issues to be fair and actual performance was good for the price but more hassle than I preferred to deal with. Support was always quick to respond to emails but I waited 29 days for a resolution so was still in return window but still had same issues.
