Flower Pro Leaf Cutters (Set of 4) for Cake Decorating, Sugarcraft, Candies and Clay, Food Safe

This is the first time I’ve ever felt inclined to leave a review on Amazon, but this product came up on my Instagram feed and I thought it looked amazing. I brought this and the rose bud mould and thought I had everything I needed to create beautiful roses. When I watched the extended rose making tutorial video they included with my purchase, it exclaimed I needed a rose petal cutter and a metal balled tool. All of this equipment is now adding up and I feel conned that these extra pieces weren’t stated as needed. Very disappointed.However after using a knife as a rose petal cutter and using this tool it does do a realistic petal imprint.I advise if you want this product to make sure you have rose petal cutters and the Katy Sue rose bud mould. As it won’t work without them.

4 stars as the hat stand does not work well. The thin part is not deep enough to offer strength and the ball part is too heavy in comparison, so all efforts ended up in breakage. But the handbag is a little delight. It has so much detail, down to the little clasp. If my eyes were better, I would have used coloured fondant in the small details, but painting it afterwards works just as well. The shoes are cute, the bow is versatile. The hat is a bit fiddly as you need to leave the dip in the middle yet not press so hard that the top of the hat separates from the brim. The hat needs manipulating by hand once out of the mould. I shall attach a pic of a cake I made to show how I used this product. The hat in the photo is sitting on the mannequin form also by Katy Sue Designs.

This embossing mat was perfect for a cake I was baking and looks much more realistic than some of the cheaper garishly-coloured silicone moulds. I have found the cheaper moulds are too soft and lose definition but this one is definitely made from better quality stuff. It's a little pricey for a one-off but as cakes are my business I will definitely be using this again. If you're going for the full tree-trunk, I recommend the Large Log Slice Veiner, also by Katy Sue. A word of caution - if using a softer fondant, as I was, ensure you dust the mould first with icing sugar.

This petal veiner did a wonderful job and supported the assembly of the all in one rose technique. The numbered sequence around the mould was a great idea. Finished results were very pleasing and I am glad I have this bit of kit.
