Just Perfect
In few words I must say that this lens is just what you are looking for, also you get what you pay for. Even though this is a thirds party lens, you will get awesome results. I've been using it for about 3 weeks and the results I've got are pretty amazing. Lets just analice some pros and cons.PROS:-Cheap, compared to the original Canon wide-angle lenses (10-22 f/3.5-4.5 for APS-C, 16-35 f/2.8 for FFs)-Nice focal length, 10-24mm 2.4X zoom (for wide-angles)-Common filter size, 77mm-Many monture options (for Canon, Nikon, Pentax...)-Solid metallic structure, not as other lenses with plastic montures that make them feel cheap and fluffy-Includes a Petal-type lens hood, not as many other lenses that you must get apart the lens hood (and Canon's are expensive compared to other trademarks!)-No vignettism or chormatical aberration-Compatible with many filters (I use the Hoya HD CPL 77mm) with no vignettism.-Nice contrast in the pictures, great colours and nice definition.-It's composition make's it very light!CONS:-Mostly made of plastic-Variable aperture (f/3.5-4.5)-Non professional lens-Autofocus is a bit slow and quite noisy (do not speck for an USM L lens for this price)In an overall construction I must say that this lens is simply awesome, if you are looking for a nice wide-angle lens (amateur or semi-pro) this is THE lens you have been looking for. Compared to the Sigma's proposals or the Tokina's, this Tamron is on the top of the third party options for wide-angles lenses. Obviously it's not a 16-35 f/2.8 L lens (1600$ more or less) construction, but it's a competitive APS-C construction in the market, for me the best! Do not hesitate on getting one, this is THE lens you have been looking for.

An amazing wide angle lens at a reasonable price
You'll be blown away by the feeling of vastness conveyed by the 10mm focal length. The lens isn't as sharp as, say, the Canon 50mm f/1.4, but in a way I think that is an advantage -- there's just something about the Tamron's silky smooth quality that really works when you're capturing such a wide angle. What drew my attention most in the shots I captured with this lens was the sky. I can capture huge landscapes *and* an amazing cloudscape in one shot. That in itself has changed the way I think about scene composition, and has opened up new worlds for me in that regard. [Note: If you haven't shot at this focal length before, hit up Bing for some useful tips. The ultra wide angle causes some interesting effects as the camera pitch moves farther above or below the horizon.]One thing you may find is that the wide angle will capture an area filled with a diverse range of highlights and shadows. You probably don't want to use a circular polarizer on a wide angle lens, but a good ND and/or Graduated ND filter can help even things out if you need it. The down side is that the quality 77mm filters needed by this lens can get a bit pricey. In short, if you are at all interested in outdoor scenery shots I recommend that you get this lens. You will not be disappointed. For reference, I own a Canon 7D.

Good image quality, so so build quality
I'm on my second one. The image quality is good for the price and it does have the better zoom range than the canon made equivalent but the first one broke because my friend somehow damaged the autofocus motor. With the autofocus switch "on" it turns the motor like on all non USM (ultrasonic motor) lenses, he turned it and turned it too quickly and hit the stop at the range of focusing. The momentum of the motor was enough to strip the gears. I had the lens all of one day. Now, after having the lens for a year the autofocus is damaged again. It fell maybe 4 inches from my bag onto a table (with camera attached, 7d) and it somehow damaged it. The autofocus got really tight. It loosened up again and continues to work, but though I have been careful with it I am disappointed with the build quality. The image quality is VERY good though. I absolutely love it for outdoor photography! If it wasn't for the great image quality/price ratio I wouldn't give it 4 stars because the build quality is sub par for this price range.

nice lens...when it worked....terrible customer support by both Amazon and Eagle
The lens worked twice then a couple of months later it wouldn't work at all. When I tried to use the lens it gave me an error code that the lens couldn't communicate with the camera. I tried to contact Tamron about this but the serial number wasn't valid. I tried to contact Eagle (the vendor who sold me the lens through Amazon) but I couldn't find a way to do that so I contacted Amazon. After explaining the problem they issued me a return authorization. When I got my refund it was minus almost $100 per Amazon's return policy. As far as I'm concerned I will never do business with Eagle again and will limit what I do with Amazon. BUYER BEWARE OF EAGLE!I met with a Tamron rep earlier today, he said from my description of the problems with the serial number it was more than likely a "grey market" lens. I have no idea, all I know is that it stopped working and I got burned for almost $100 for something that cost more than $400.00 and didn't last 3 months.Be careful what you buy through Amazon, if it's a direct buy then you might be ok with any problem solving, beyond that don't expect much if any help.

Useful focal range but it's not very sharp
I bought whis lens to give it a try to Tamron after reading several reviews and comparing against the Sigma and Tokina. I use it with a Rebel XTI (400D) and a complementation of a 24-105L. I like it, construction is good, distortion very well controlled, cromatic aberrations is just ok, sharpness is just ok on the center but regular to bad on the corners, even at f5.6, f8 or f16. I did some home test with some friends that own Canon 10-22 and Sigma 10-20. I believe that Canon is the best choice between these three options. Second place to Sigma (sharp a little better)I don't mention tokina because a have not try it.Conclusion: It's ok but it is not impressive to say "WOW!!!!".

Good wide angle lens for a relatively reasonable price
As I wanted to get a wider angle lens for my camera (Canon 60D) I considered several choices. Tamron was it for the relatively reasonable price and the aperture of 3.5 at the wide end. Canon's older lens 10-22mm has the same aperture but is slightly more expensive, the new Canon's 10-18mm lens is very reasonable but it starts with its aperture at 4.5. Test reports had not been too bad about the Tamron and so I tried it. I am sure not a professional photographer. So my demands might be lower than the ones of experts.I tried it for night sky and there are nice pics of the Milky Way. I did some photos of scenery (sunrises, lake effects) and some photos of interior and there the big wide angle sure is a great thing. Up to now I do not have to complain about anything. At the wide angle and full aperture stars in the night sky pictures are getting a little longer towards the edges. This has nothing to do with the motion of the earth but just with less sharpness at the edges. As I usually do not crop these wide angle photos this effect is not really disturbing.

In my opinion one of the best lens to shoot skateboard with
In my opinion one of the best lens to shoot skateboard with. (You can use it for every other purpose to I guess) It's a great wide angle that does not stretch the image to much. It's just perfect :) Also being able to zoom up to 24mm is awesome :D Definetely a 5/5!
