Sturdy! Quiet in my apartment....
I'm a novice guitarist. I bought a practice drum pad and sticks, to round out my timing and rhythm skills. The music store I bought the pad from had no stand at all. I have been playing on a chair. I found this, and I'm so pleased I bought it! It is an Evans stand for my Evans 7 inch pad. Super sturdy and durable. I set it up to play in my apartment and it's quiet! I won't bug the neighbors above or below me. The main stem is 3/4 inch. I will probably go to the hardware store to get a flat plastic washer, to put under the pad to mount. Very stable! In one of the pics I added a quarter for comparison.

GREAT light & stable cymbal stand (w/small modification)
I bought this and use it as an extremely light weight cymbal stand. It doesn't get very tall but I use it for my ride cymbal as part of my effort to use stands that aren't so heavy, like most double braced stands are. I went to the hardware store and purchased one coupler nut and a short threaded rod. I use the "No Nuts Cymbal Sleeves" on my stands, so just screwed it on to the threaded rod like any other cymbal stand. Or, you could just add the washer, felts, cymbal sleeves and wing nut. The other option, as another review explains it to remove the existing bolt and replace with a longer one.

Light Weight
This stand is light and fits the Evans practice pad perfectly. I would give it 5 stars but the nut comes slightly loose during play and so the pad tilts. There are better ways to ensure that the nut doesn't slip. I like having the pad flat.

Good Product
For my 10 year old son, this product is "sooo professional"...lol. The apprentice pad DOES NOT come with the stand. I foolishly bought this product thinking it came just as the picture depicted. No big deal. I later bought the apprentice pad to complete the set. Still a good buy and worth the money.

Well made and very sturdy. Does exactly what it is supposed to do
Well made and very sturdy. Does exactly what it is supposed to do, namely allow me to attach my practice pad via the threaded post at the top. Having the ability to tilt the pad forward is also a great added benefit.

Sturdy but can slip
It's light, sturdy, easy to set up and take down, and it doesn't make any extraneous noises, when used with my Apprentice pad. I wish it could go a bit lower (shorter height), but that's not really a big deal. My only significant issue with it is that the angle adjustment can slip. Even if I tighten it really tight, after playing a while, especially if hitting a little hard, the angle of the pad can change. A design that includes small teeth (or something) to lock the angle in place would have helped.

Easily customizable to fit any drum pad (requires a torch and hammer)
Bought a Remo RT-0010-58 10" pad and the threads in the pad were too small (6mm) to fit the 8mm bolt this stand has. Ran to home depot, bought a 6mm bolt and a washer, put a torch onto the welded 8mm bolt "permanently" connected to the stand and hit it with a hammer (while the stand part was in a vise), knocking the bolt out and leaving a hole in the stand, ready for me to insert the 6mm bolt my Remo pad required. Super easy, 5 minutes plus drive time to HD, to customize the stand to allow its use on any size drum pad (so long as you get a torch from Home Depot).
