so this isnt the most informative from a lessons point of view. It provides tips from a bunch of artist, but if your looking for a more step by step with technique insights this is probably not it

This is a great book. ImagineFX makes some truly useful products for aspiring artists and the experts alike. This book is loaded with techniques, concepts, and production quality pictures. The artists featured in the book take you through their own creation process from conceptualization to completion.

Again Imagine FX have surpassed themselves with an excellently written and presented book, giving plenty of techniques and tips along the way for any aspiring or proffesional artist it adds a great deal to my already growing collection of books.But and here is the but, may of the articles I have seen before, it fails to mention that in the book overview that many of these articles have been published previously both in the magazine and specifically in the Sci-Fi Art Essentials Magbook published in 2010, again this is not a showstopper but it does detract from what would otherwise be a fantastice resource. would I have bought this book had I known this...probably not...will I be sending it back..again probably not as it still does what it says on the tin

Good book, great source of inspiration and well explained tutorials. Unfortunately, i gave it 3 stars because there are so many tutorials already seen, printed, and reprinted in other books. The price, compared with other digital painting guide from 3dtotal is very good, so, if you have no other beginners guides I recommend it, otherwise you will buy the same product as it happened to me

There are far better books on the topic than anything by this publisher. I recommend looking at the Digital Painting Techniques series by 3Dtotal instead.

Lots of great examples, and techniques. Great book.
