500GB SATA 2.5 Samsung M8

I used this to replace a failing HDD in an out-of-warranty Xbox One. 2 months in, it's working like a dream. No ban-hammer from xb-live either (yet, but you know, at your own risk, YMMV). This is the same make/model as the drives they use in the original console. The drive worked properly out of the box and had no bad sectors when I scanned it. Quite happy with this drive. For those who've found their way out here and are thinking about attempting an xbone repair, know that it's not as simple as just popping in a new drive. It has to be formatted a certain way, and it needs a specific set of files. There are a bunch of sites claiming that they have working methods of doing this. Most require the use of Linux (which most people won't have) or HDD cloning software. I tried several drive cloning methods and none of them worked. The solution that 'did' work was detailed in the youtube video "Replace / Format Existing XBOX One Hard Drive using Windows - Fix Error E101, E102, E200, E203, E305". It's 29:35 min long, and the dude talking has a British accent. Getting the stupid case apart is easily the hardest part (track down a separate video for that, and be prepared for a fight). I'm a software engineer, but I've built my own PC, repaired a couple of LCD TV's and NES's, etc., and I had a heck of a time with this... so best of luck if you give it a go.

Worked as described! Tried to repair another drive of the same model number that crashed using the motorboard....didn't work!

Worked exactly as advertised. I am probably going to buy a duplicate just to have a mirrored backup in the event of future failure.

I used this to fix my daughters Dell that crashed while her boys were playing. They probably jolted it at just the wrong time when the hard drive was reading or writing. It works great, the price was right and it came in on time. No complaints.

Worked fine untill it failed after 2 weeks of use. What a waste of $50, don't waste your money on this hard drive.

didn't work bought new windows10 home still did not work. said didn't recognize format could not format.

Shipped on time but the item was not what I expected. I was not able to install it in my PC.

I ordered it to replace it in my DVR security cameras and worked like a charm. gave it 4 stars because the previous one gave up and it was the same brand.
