Looks almost new
The desktop came fast. As soon as I got it, I open the case to see how dirty it would be inside. Everything was super clean inside and to my surprise; it had a 1Tb. hard drive. Only thing I had to do, is go into the Bios and change fast boot setting, because wouldn't always boot into Windows. Maybe for someone not knowing why this was happening, they might think it was broke. It wasn't. Also from the flash screen when it first boots up, I found out it was own by some school in Michigan.I dropped in my old hard drive, (also a 1Tb.) added some more RAM, (32gb.total) an AMD (12gb.) video card and this thing is rockin. All this using Windows 7 Pro. It came with Windows 10, but I'll never use 10 or 11. Linux Mint is next. The only thing on my wish list is, that it came with a bigger power supply unit. But, it is what it is; otherwise, I don't have any complaints with the desktop. For what it cost, it's a great used computer.

Better than expected in most regards.
I purchased this with the purpose of setting it up as a PLEX server. After doing my research I found that most NAS devices that have "PLEX Capability" sometimes have trouble playing certain file formats because they are not "powerful enough" (I received this error message frequently from my synology Synology DS216J NAS DiskStation (DS216j) after attempting to run plex for the lulz on it). After doing more research I found that more powerful servers that should be able to handle PLEX without issues are also quite expensive (for the device alone excluding hard drives) and are running hardware as old (generation wise) as what is in this refurbished computer. Upon receiving it and unboxing it I noticed it seem to be fairly scratched. Upon seeing it in this condition I did become somewhat worried. I decided to open it up to check out what condition the interior looked like. In my case at least, it seems that the refurbisher at least blew air at it since it is fairly clean. No dust bunnies, baked in dust on the CPU heat sink, or bulging or corroded capacitors. Luckily the 8 gigs of ram came installed as 2 4 gig sticks, so it should be easy to upgrade to 16 in the future if need be as the board has a total of 4 slots. Aside from it's outside appearance I liked what i saw so far. After powering it up and getting it all set up with the included windows 10 professional key it seemed to have no stability issues. I installed Speccy to see what were the exact computer specs and this is what i found:CPU: Core i5 2500 @ 3.30GHz turbo up to 3.70GHz (not the K version but still better than what i expected from the amazon product description).RAM: 8GB Dual channel DDR3 @ 665MHz (9-9-9-24) (could have been a little faster but so far I haven't found this to be an issue.Mother board: Hewlett-Packard 1495 (Socket 0)Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 2000 (obviously what is embeded in the i5 2500)Storage: 931GB Seagate ST31000524AS (SATA) (again, better than what i expected.)Optical Drive: hp DVD-RAM GH80NAudio:High Definition Audio Device.Overall I think got lucky with the unit I received as it is in fact stamped with an HP Elite 8200 SFF sticker on the side of the case. I think this unit in particular might have been purchased with upgrades from the factory since it comes with slightly better parts than described on the amazon product description.I should mention I purchased it from PC Rebuilders & Recyclers and I feel like they did a good job with the unit i received aside from the very scratched case, but that is only cosmetic. So far it's been running for several days without issues and have not lost connection to team viewer or dropped connection on the PLEX server or disconnected from my synology NAS (this is where I store all my media and has become only a file server since it isn't powerful enough to handle the transcoding). I would definitely buy from them again.

Good and Bad
OK, First let me say that the Computer does work as advertised. I do not have an issue with that. When I first opened the outer box, inside was another, smaller box that contained the computer. The packaging/padding between the larger outer box and the smaller inner box amounted to one piece of brown paper, which would allow the smaller, inner box to slosh around like a fish in a typhoon during to whole delivery process. On opening the inner box, the computer was well padded, with some custom form fitting foam. On the back of the computer, when there is those lock holes so you could lock the computer so someone couldn't open it was all bent up. I opened the computer to check the inside, it was dirty and the button battery that retains the CMOS info when the computer is powered down was missing, so I had to wait until the day after Christmas to be able to get one so I could set up the computer for my daughter, and that was completely disappointing.I understand that this was a refurbished computer, but I feel like some parts of that process, feel through the cracks. Like I said the computer does preform as promised, but...

Great Deal
Like many other things nowadays, computers have become disposable. For $180 you get a little more than what you paid for. This is a solid no frills machine that is fast, quiet and works well. I have not had any problems and Windows 10 is great. I am a web developer and use this with visual studio and photoshop. I also use it to stream my music collection via Plex. I have 3 external drives in the USB ports that are working fine. If you are purchasing one of these refurbished systems be sure to get at least 8GB of ram. I am expecting to get 2-3 years out of this machine at least. If that happens I will be more than satisfied. I do not think I will ever buy a brand new computer again.

Very slow computer
Ran super slow. Installed solid state drive and a different version of Windows 10 and now it is fast. Came with a Barracuda drive so I don't know why it was so slow. Maybe the way Windows was installed.

Grievous and unforced configuration error.
I can't pass judgement on the quality of the unit yet, it did come without a lot of bloatware which I appreciate. However, it came with the BIOS configured to boot from a network image via the INTEL BOOT agent. This particular unit has a very brief cryptic opportunity to access the BIOS before this network boot process started and eventually failed. I am an IT guy and it took me a while to figure out what was happening and how to access the BIOS to boot from the local hard drive; how will Mom and Pop figure it out? There is no documentation enclosed with the unit.
