Purdy boots - good make
Pleasantly surprised they appeared lighter in colour than picturedA nice dark elephant grey and cerise rather than dark charcoal and red as I thought I bought a different make and style too for comparison but really liked these too so I’ve kept bothFit as expected - quite a broad foot and size 6 - comfyNo rub around toes seams laces ankle and heel - you just kinda know as soon as you put your foot in walking shoes don’t you !!Fastened and walking not a hike just a mobile ‘jobs’ and varied terrain kind of day and they were still comfy with no rubFeet were a little warm though - so I’d say not breathable - which on some days is good that your feet are warm other day - mmm bit too warm though but no sweaty socks thankfullyI also bought a waterproofed product too and I’ve sprayed them in day one ! Having learned not simply to expect boots to retaintheir water repellent property without a little tic.Should make them easier to wipe after a micDry or dusty walk tooAfter a few hours- splashes my boots with clean water and happily noticed the beading effect - highly recommend a waterproofing extra safety net to keep the colour !Good strong laces !A little naffed off that on the day of delivery - the same seller selling boots cheaper ! Not pleased but it’s not a massive differenceI paid £44 for these boots and £9 for my water prooferThere’s cheaper out there but I have found that they’re never waterproof or water resistant as claimed and the soles have pulled off n sometimes my feet have got soaked ! In 30-£35 boots with no w/proofingPaid more and taken precautions - hoping it pays off !

are very comfortable and are hard wearing
I have a soft spot for Karrimor boots as they always fit extremely well, are very comfortable and are hard wearing. However I have noticed that the sizes are smaller than previously so with these boots I went for half a size larger and it made all the difference. The boots are narrow but fit my feet well. They are very comfortable, look great and hopefully will last a long time.I have not been able to test the waterproofing as we are having a heatwave in the Highlands! Doesn't happen often so making the most of it.

Karrimor Bodmins are a great boot
Second pair of Bodmins in the last 7-8 years and they slip straight on, with very little break in. They are lightweight, comfy, 'splash' proof, with good tread. They are not 100% waterproof, but they give it a good shot, unless your wading across a river, you should be fine. All in all a good entry level boot for walking/hiking.

Wet feet
Had a similar pair for a few years, these are a bit tight but, just need to wear them in, will give update at a later stage. Update!! not very happy, been for a 5 mile walk, it's been raining on and off, my feet are wet, not the product I thought it was, my others gave me dry feet for 2 years, I walk at least twice a week in all kinds of weather , this is very inconvenient.
