These will be fine for closing off open spaces on outside stairs.Rods are a .31" thick.Attaching hardware, which is a nice addition, are 1 1/8" or 1.125" truss screws.Stair joist, where attachment happens, are 3/4" or .75"..31" - 1.125" = .815" therefore screws are too long for my use.And, purchased 3/4" or .75" truss screws.

We replaced our wooden ballasters with these black metal ones! What a difference ! They look so much better! They are well made easy to install! Our neighbors have asked where we got them. Very pleased!

Very happy with these balusters. Although my dog in the photo looks happy to see them installed she may have changed her tune because they are the perfect thing to keep her out of the pool area when we arent there for supervision.

Product worked well for my deck railing. Would have given 5 stars but my second order of 76 items was missing the screws! Had to spend extra to buy them from a hardware store. Returning is a pain and I didn’t have the time. Very disappointing.

As always, my reviews will be straight forward and honest-I ordered these and the price was the best I could find. I received them and upon opening the box, I discovered how flimsy these are. When holding them up in place on my rail, I could literally deflect them with my pinky finger. These might work ok in a ground level deck, but for an eleveated railing, I didn't feel comfortable installing them. My suspicion is that they would compress and bend while tightening the screws down.The powder coat finish was ok, but there were some missed spots. Also the screw hardware provided was nothing more than 1" fine thread dryway screws, which as mentioned in other reviews would be useless. For some these may work, but be warned, they are extremely thin and flimsy- The description says A2 tool steel---more like aluminum that is less than 1 MM thick.

Perfect. I put them on stair railing. They look great. the screws strip out easy so be careful and take your time installing.
