Very nice Bible and I love this easy to understand translation. NLT is the best compromise, if moving away from a KJV. ( if you don’t want to change the original meaning or intent of the scriptures )

The perfect leather bible for under $50. It's everything you could ask for and would make a beautiful gift! Perfect for studying and for church! If I could find it in black leather, I'd be even happier.

As the owner of many premiums and rebinds I have done many reviews and have a YouTube channel. I had sold my NLT Allan last year (10pt) and wanted a very large/giant print NLT.Here are the negatives of this Bible:1. Thinnish paper (consequence of keeping size manageable in a very large print).2. Paste down liner (seems high quality liner but will split in time).3. One ribbon (fixable).4. Didn't need maps and Concordance (put on the app).5. NOT a giant print (I would call 13 pt.+ a giant print). Actually a very large print (12 pt.)Positives:1. Genuine Leather (pigskin?) will give good service.2. A text only Bible which allows non-distraction.3. Medium boldness (acceptable and lessens bleed through).4. Double column.5. Translator's notes6. Red letter (I am not a fan buy many are).7. Choice indexed/non.8. Interesting spine lettering (but "NLT" not more than once!).9. Dimensions in hand are good. Nearly 2" thickness is price you pay for print size.10. App is a brilliant idea. I can have tablet next to me and utilize it as I wish. Or even just the app.Improvements:1. 2+ ribbons.2. An upgraded leather (calfskin?) cover with a edge lined liner (even if it means +$50 price).

This is a great starter Bible, very easy to read, large bold type, lies flat and the filament app feature is helpful for study. For myself however, phones and Bible time don’t mix. If my phone is nearby, suddenly two hours will pass and I’m shopping for shoes, researching healthiest dog food brands or reading about ancient cults. That’s OK though, I’ve purchased this Bible simply for casual reading, not so much study. The more literal translations are better for that in my opinion. The NLT paraphrases scripture, helping you grasp the story using basic modern language.Things I don’t like…there’s no stitching as depicted in one of the Amazon photos. It’s clearly a pasted, very thin leather cover with paper liner. Honestly it feels a bit more like bonded leather than full grain. You will see the difference in the photos I’ve posted alongside this review. That being said, I can mark it up with highlighters and pens and not feel like I’m vandalizing a work of art.On another note, I purchased this Bible for around $50 and I see the price has gone up since. I probably wouldn’t pay the price they are asking now.Overall, I’m happy with this Bible. I find myself reading it more than my other bibles. But with consistent use, I don’t see it lasting several years.

Depicted with stitched cover, but none there. Inside border of cover only glued down showing tendency to come loose. Leather not calf skin, so stiffer like ? pigskin.

Bible was not the same as in the picture didn't have threading around the edges and there's no design on the leather it says it's genuine leather but it feels like little thin piece of bonded leather not a good buy

The bible is great. However the thumb Index tabs were not placed in the right way. Reordered another one. Same problem.

The copy I got is not a new one - the cover looks a bit worn, some pages are creased... And it seems I got one of the last copies available, before the new 12 Feb 2021 edition came out.The NLT Bible is one of the best translations, and the filament app is a great tool for Bible study.
