Don't know why it has such good reviews
I really thought I'd love this grinder! It is super cute and seems like decent quality. I got it to grind small amounts of whole spices such as nutmeg, coriander seeds, cinnamon bark, etc. Unfortunately it's a really weird design for doing that. The holes in the top part of the grinder are so big that coriander seeds fall through them before even getting ground up. Even when I turned it upside down (so they didn't fall through the holes) they got somewhat ground up but not enough to turn into powder which was kinda the point (see pic). The top part also isn't big enough to fit large pieces of spices. You'd have to make them small enough to fit, but not too small to fall through the holes without getting ground up. Also the top part is held on by a magnet (it doesnt screw on) so if the spice you are trying to grind is bulky the top doesnt stay on easily.I'm sad this didn't work for me... I loved the idea of being able to grab a small grinder when I needed some spices here and there.

Inexpensive, straightforward and easy to clean.
This grinder separates into 5 pieces: the crank, the teeth, the upper lid, the body, and the base/fine-grain catcher, which makes it simple to clean. The teeth screw into the crank (with the upper lid between them) which can occasionally be difficult to untwist, given the teeth are sharp and if you tightened it semi-hard it might need something like a coin to get leverage on it without hurting your hand, but this can be avoided if you can find the sweetspot for tightening it without it being too loose.Teeth are sharp, effective, and not tediously-difficult to clean. After a year and a month of use, they still cut as well as when I bought it.I don't think images do this grinder justice. I didn't buy it for the color but I found myself particularly bummed the couple times I managed to put a nick or chip in the paint.Honestly the only problem with this grinder I've had is that the glass on the top lid cracked suddenly (not sure the cause, as it wasn't dropped or exposed to anything besides rubbing alcohol while being cleaned) and somewhat severely. Still usable, as can be seen from the picture, but the crack continued to increase after a couple hours. I sent in a message to the seller and they didn't hesitate to offer me a new one. Will definitely recommend this to others I know in the market and it's cheap enough I may buy another as a gift. Very satisfied with this.

Useless without instructions
This item came in a tiny box with no instructions. I cannot use it and I do not recommend it as a purchase

Very easy to use, sturdy and attractive.
I have tried using the typical grinder. I have a hard time with pain and strength in my wrist and always found that I could not grind the herb very well, especially if it was not a completely dried bud. This grinder has been very effective in grinding every bud regardless of dryness or even if there is a little stem. I have used it plenty for a month and have not had any problems at all. The color is also very nice and true to the picture.

Worth every Penny!!
Great all around grinder! 9/10It does exactly as advertised and so far the construction and quality have been great. --1st Picture --The cutting teeth are spaced very well and produce a nice, fluffy grind without getting bound up or overly dirty (sticky.) --2nd Picture--Old grinder issues- small lid, hard to grip and twist upright- easily clogged- too fine a grind- poor quality, cross threading after moderate useThis grinder solves all of these issues by giving you something substantial to hold on to (the crank) and leaves your other hand free to hold the grinder upright or on the table. One negative, the crank handle is very short and a bit floppy. The handle flips up into position and stays in place with a magnet, i beleive. But if you try to start grinding with the crank after you first load it up, it can be difficult to get enough torque with just the crank.I solve this by bracing the back of the crank handle with my whole pointer finger and the base (by the center hole) with my thumb. (3rd Picture)Compared to my old grinder, this one is much better and I especially love the crank mechanism.Worth every penny!

Top needs to screw on, blades dull quick. Paint comes off
*update*After just a couple months with it being used once a week the blades are dull and instead of grinding evenly it just kinda mashes everything into powder which is not good. Also the paint comes off when washed. It's weird. Regular dish soap and like warm water (no soak) just a sponge to clean it and bye bye paint. Unbelievable.*End update*This thing is sharp and grinds really well BUT if you don't hold the top on, which is actually kind of difficult because it's so small...When you start grinding the top will come off and whatever you put inside will go EVERYWHERE.The top (like every other section of the grinder) needs to screw on. It can't be held on by a weak magnet that's inlcuded.Unfortunately I can't recommend this but I really wish I could. It needs a threaded top, otherwise having the crank is pointless

More than good enough for its intended purpose.
I wanted to try a small grinder with a hand crank. This one looked good, except for a surprising number of one-star reviews saying that the "unbreakable" crank often breaks, sometimes while trying to grind whole coriander or peppercorns.I'm glad I decided to give it a try, because this is definitely my favorite grinder now. The little crank is adorable, the components are sharp, and really only 2-3 turns are needed. The magnet is just as good as any hand-grinder magnet. I can see why some people think it's too weak for the torque you can generate, but only if you're trying to work on a counter. I hold the components in one hand and turn the crank with my other hand. I'll be surprised if it breaks.
