Solid Wifi
I already have a unifi dream router which makes setting this up very easy. It doesn't come with a POE injector, but I had a spare POE port so it was plug and play. The device popped up in the unifi console straight away and has worked flawlessly since plugging in. I did have some issues originally with a switch not passing all VLAN's properly but that wasn't a unifi issue. The signal strength is great. I live in a 3 bed semi and now have 2 access points, both upstairs in opposite corners of the house and I get consistent signal all around the house and garden with no issues. 2 lite's is better than one LR in my opinion as i can keep the power low and have no blackspots. With one AP I was always struggling behind the solid brick chimney and external walls, with 2 I cover both sides. Speed wise I haven't had any issues. I use the Wifiman app to check coverage and with this one i always get at least 300mbps download around the house which is fine for me. my ping is typically around 15ms to a test server or 3-6ms to the router with BT fibre internet. So its about double the ping for hardwired connections which is fantastic for wifi. It comes with a ceiling mount and fixings but no cables. Overall its a very robust product and I havne't had any issues. I waited a while and got one for £105. Great value for money when used with a unifi gateway, although I use them at work and can be setup individually if needed and works just as well.

Brilliant.
This has solved all my wifi problems in my garage which is 50 metres from my house. I was using one of these WiFi adapters that works by plugging into a wall socket at the router and a wall socket at the garage but it was unreliable. I already had an ethernet cable wired to the garage, and by using an old ethernet switch that I had lying around the house, I now have an excellent WiFi signal in the garage. In fact, out of curiosity, I tried a wifi lighting controller outside the garage which is about 6 metres straight line distance, through concrete block walls boarded with kingspan and plasterboard and it was showing a signal of 80%, which I thought was pretty good.

Unifi works very well
I have the Unifi Dream Machine as my primary router, and it has a good range, but my building walls have a metal mesh in them that means Wi-Fi signals degrade quickly. To get around this for a couple of Wi-Fi cameras I needed an access point. With Wi-Fi6 being the newest standard, I decided to get the U6 lite AP. Adding it to my UDM was easy - just cable it in (I use an ethernet backhaul for stability) and the AP is detected by the UDM, giving you the option to adopt it in the web interface. In less than 10 minutes I had it added to my network and the firmware updated. As anyone with a Unifi network will know, the management of the network is excellent. The AP is controlled through the UDM Network app, with nothing else needing to be configured unless the available Wi-Fi networks is different to the rest of the network. I do have a couple of niggles with it though. The first is the AP no longer comes with a POE injector to power it. If you don't have a POE switch, you will need to purchase an injector to power it. The other is the blue ring on it. The only options are on or off. I would prefer a dim ring too, along with the ability to schedule when the ring is on and off. These are minor issues for me though (I had a POE injector available already) but are things to consider and be aware of.

Great stability, needs some tweeking for max performance - not much faster than older AC Lite
I've got a fair selection of existing Unifi products, including original AP-LR, an AC-Lite and an AC-LR... This new one is about same size as AC-Lite, smaller than AC-LR, but feels a little heavier than AC-LR. It's powered by PoE 48V (the standard), however unlike my other devices, no PoE injector is provided, so you'll either need to buy one or power off a PoE switch. I plugged mine into a spare port on my PoE switch, and with the controller software running, it quickly found it and updated it. Within 10 minutes it was on the network and fully running. Now out of the box, my AC-LR, I was able to provide 150Mbps on a Pixel 6 Pro connected to the 5Ghz AC band. Running the U6-Lite, I was able to get 175Mbps on the Pixel 6 Pro... hardly any difference, and indeed, much slower than the 400Mbps I can get on my BT Smart Hub 2... So after spending time digging into the differences and using a wifi scanner... It seems that the BT hub is using a 80Mhz wide channel vs the 40Mhz width the Unifi was using. This also shows that BT hogs the entire default 4 frequencies worth of bandwidth (channel 36-48). So switching over to an 80Mhz wide band, I found I too could also get 400Mbs out of the U6-Lite. In terms of price, the £100 for U6-Lite is far greater than the £70 price tag of the AC-Lite To be fair the U6-Lite is more a replacement for the AC-LR though (with U6-LR being replacement for more upmarket AC-Pro). Indeed I found the range on the U6-Lite further than the AC-Lite... Overall, you'll get decent reliable wifi. However if you want faster, BT Hub rivalling performance, you'll need to do some tweeks to the settings. Definitely worth a 5 star rating, however I wouldn't say the difference over the AC-Lite/AC-LR is sufficient to justify replacing them with these...
