For about a year I would wake up each night with pain in my knees, and have to take pain medication and use aspirin cream on my knees and raise my legs to get the circulation going. I have faithfully used it every night but one since then, and on that one night I had sleeping problems again. I do not know how or why this product works, but it does. It arrived compressed, but fluffed up enough to quickly start using. It is soft and comfortable, and immediately provided some muscle pain relief, as well as relief from heel abrasions. It is exactly what I needed, and I have used it continuously since I got it. I’ve been using a small pillow under my knees, and may get a second bolster for my knees. This is truly an awesome bolster that has provided a lot of relief. Although the cover is plush and nice, the foam did not seem to warm up at all to my body. I had back surgery and bought two of these at the same time to aid in my recovery - one for under my knees and one for under my back (as the item information suggests may be helpful while sleeping to relieve lumbar pressure and therefore lumbar pain). Since, unlike other memory foam items, it did not warm up or conform to my body it was simply rigid and felt like I was attempting to sleep with a rock under my low back and knees. NOT at all what I thought that I was buying based on the product information page, it actually made my sleep worse and not better. I wasn't even able to sleep for one entire night with these because they are so rigid and therefore caused me further pain. If you're looking to relieve lumbar pain or for something to prop your knees up while you sleep look elsewhere unless you're keen to sleeping with rocks. Then, come to find out (after the fact of course)... there are no returns on this item. I may be just one person, but if I were you I'd look elsewhere.
