It is frustrating, but if you look for a review by Sara, you will know exactly how to use it. I've used it once and already feel the difference in my mouth. I will update this review after I've used it for a while. The price is right.

Summary: I bought this product for the red lights, as I had an abscess that was causing me pain. After several rounds, the abscess and the pain went away, which bought me time to make a dentist appointment.Pros:- Great price compared to other brands- Works as expected- Great results- Easy to cleanCons:- Operation can be frustrating as the button is sensitive once turned on. Removed one star for being too sensitive.- No caseTips:- Charge completely before first use- To turn on/off: Long press the power button, until lights turn on/off- To change light modes: Once on, it is blue. Quick press once for red/blue, press again for red, and again to go back to blue. This is where it is sensitive and will quickly switch modes at the lightest touch.-What helps me deal with the button sensitivity: Once on the mode you want, grab it from the sides to place in your mouth or place in your mouth first and then turn it on, etc. Look in a mirror and you can see what mode it's on by the color your mouth glows!Not medical advice, do your own research, just an interesting point to make: The red light spectrum has scientific studies available to back the effectiveness against bacteria.

Bought this because I have a tooth abcess & terrible bleeding gums. Doesn't matter how much I floss, use Rx toothpaste etc, it just seemed to get worse. Ordered this after reading about blue light therapy & seeing info on red light as well. We use blue light at work to help people with their skin conditions such as precancerous cells. At any rate I ordered this & received it Tuesday the 28th. I hv used it 3x a day for 16 minutes each time. Gums are no longer bleeding & abcess appears to be a little smaller & there's no pain. I'm shocked because when I'd brush previously my sink looked like a crime scene. It was full of copious amounts of blood when I'd spit. It was really bad. I will continue to use this daily at least once a day after ancess is gone. Going to order another for a friend.

It works but you have to okay with the controls. The charging connection is magnetic, which doesn't bother me. Just keep the device on a stable surface, while charging.

I wanted one of these that could be used for red light therapy only and this one has the best reviews and pricing as well .Only complaint is I'd like to see the mouthpiece removable from the battery section to make cleaning easier.Happy with my purchase!

This is EXACTLY like some units that are 150-200 dollars. This didn't come with instructions, I immediately got upset. I plugged it in and the blue light came on and off, but as I pressed the button (pretty hard) nothing happened.First off, let it charge for 15 minutes at least, the blue light will flash on and off. That means it is charging.When you unplug to use it, gently put your thumb on the button and hold, DON"T PUSH HARD. The unit will light up. Then gently tap the bottom of the button pretty quickly, it will change colors and it will stay ON.You can choose to do blue light only, red light only, or both together by tapping. When you pick what you want , STOP tapping. It will stay on for 15 minutes and automatically shut off. Have your gel ready if you choose to use a whitener with it, or just wear it alone.Since the unit fits both top and bottom either way, I suggest using it with the button side UP. Because once the unit is on, if you tap the button by accident very gently, the color will change. I find I don't accidently tap it when it is up. Also hold it on the edges when adjusting so you don't accidently tap the button, it is sensitive. No big deal if you do, just tap it a few more times to get it back to the right color.This is a great deal, very easy to use but it was annoying there were no instructions. Not annoying enough to remove a star because it is great.

UPDATE: This magnetic charging system is B. S. Just plain crap! Having 3 separate LED modes is outstanding, but useless w/o a decent battery and charging system. After 5 weeks, it won't charge properly OR work more than a few minutes. Conveniently outside of return window! I purchased a better one for 1/3 the price somewhere else.DO NOT BUY! THE CHARGING SYSTEM WILL FAIL SOONER THAN LATER!-----------------------Admittedly, I've only had this for less than a week, so I HOPE it lasts awhile. This review addresses the rest. I ordered a different brand that did not have a separate RED mode, so I sent it back. Received THIS one as my upper bridge became very tender and swollen in excruciating pain from just breathing! After 2 days of 2x/day of red + RB, the pain is gone, the swelling is 90% reduced, and I can now chew meat on that side! FYI, i have no intention of using it for whitening my teeth!I have a very small mouth and was concerned that it would be too big, but was surprised at how small it is. The silicone mouthpiece is super soft and flexible and completely fills my small mouth, causing a gag reflex several times, I simply worked thru it and breathed thru my mouth....suck the saliva back thru the teeth! With a normal size mouth it won't fully fit, but the light WILL completely bathe the entire mouth with bright light!The lights are BRIGHT and work well. Not crazy about the magnetic interface, but have NOT found a 3 mode device that charges differently w/o all the whitening gel, with 32 lights, for a reasonable price.YES, it IS SUPER sensitive! But, simply cycle thru it again. No biggie! As one other reviewer suggested, I turn it upside down to reduce accidentally triggering it while on.It's well packed and presented, small, flexible and bright, and reasonably priced for 3 modes. Happy camper so far.
