Beautiful Book
Bought this as a present. Beautifully written and illustrated. Downside, personally it is too heavy!

Lot of information in and lovely presented
I love this book though I'm only a quarter through looking at it. The only down side is it's very heavy so have to read it sitting at a table, or some sort of tray with a cushion underneath on you're lap?lol!Nut really lovely book.

beautiful
a huge collection of photos of a variety of life forms: animals, plants, algae, etc. A great buy for someone like me who wants to introduce their child to a diversity of life.

Heavy!
This is not a book to take lightly. It’s a massive, heavy tome, and is full of thousands of clear, detailed images combine with concise information which is the hallmark of Dorling Kindersley. I bought it for my partner and she’s thrilled with it. Of course even such a weighty publication can’t catalogue Everything on Earth (although that’s part of the book’s strapline), so expect some frustration if you try to find something in particular. We were looking for the “false widow” spider for instance, but it was nowhere to be seen. However, as a visual overview of the Natural History of the World, it’s pretty impressive and colourful.I have bought a few books from Amazon recently and as a general comment I’d say they need to up the quality of their packaging, as all the books we’ve received have had some damage to their extremities. Nothing serious, and we haven’t felt the need to send any back. But if you were giving the book as a present you might be slightly disappointed.
