The Clear Quran - English Only Hard Cover For a translation to do justice to the Quran and capture its elegance and vigor, it has to be accurate, smooth, eloquent, and accessible. Unlike most popular translations, The Clear Quran masterfully passes on all counts. This paperback edition comes with beautiful gold foil stamping on the cover and high quality print on beige pages making it easy to read. It also makes a great gift. ABOUT THE TRANSLATION Thousands of hours have been put into this work over the last few years to guarantee accuracy, clarity, eloquence, and flow. To achieve accuracy, the translator has made use of the greatest and most celebrated works of old and modern tafsir (Quran commentaries), and shared the work with several Imams in North America for feedback and insight. For clarity, every effort has been made to select easy to understand words and phrases that reflect the beauty, flow, and power of the original text. Along with informative footnotes and surah (chapter) introductions, verses have been grouped and titled based on their themes for a better understanding of the chapters, their main concepts, and internal coherence. Thanks to our dedicated team of scholars, editors, and proofreaders, we believe that what you are holding in your hands now is the finest translation of the Final Revelation. This translation has been officially approved by Al-Azhar (the most prestigious school of Islamic knowledge in the world) and endorsed by ISNA and the Canadian Council of Imams. Review: The Quran (Excellent) - I found this book to be very interesting and I enjoyed reading the whole book. The lay out is very cleaver and the author leaves little notes to explain the meaning of the verses. Indeed I have learned alot about Islam. I would highly recommend people to read and understand everything in the Quran. Review: Best translation ever - I have read the Quran in Spanish, English (in the App) also in Arabic (although my understanding is poor) and I have to say that this translation is one of the best so far, with explanations of events which I found it very helpful, If I were a non muslim trying to understand, this is the book bc even the names of prophets are named in biblical names, also I love how light is the book and the hard cover makes it even nicer may god grant us knowledge and guidance ameen

Not a Quran, but the writer's personal perspective of Islam.
1 star because this is not a Quran, it is the writer's perspective and vision of what the Quran and Islam is (or should be). To be fair, that perspective of the writer is truly beautiful, but it's also disturbingly far from reality. For example, the first couple of pages are an attempt to decouple the religion from anything that modern Western people see as atrocities. The writer talks about how in Islam women are equal to men, while in many Muslim nations the age of consent is 9 so that girls can be betrothed in forced marriages. The writer also writes about how throughout the ages many non-believers lived peacefully in Muslim nations, practicing their own alternate religion with their own churches / shrines. Yet in reality it's well documented that all non-believers in Muslim nations needed to pay additional taxes and were mostly living as lower-class citizens, a complete 2-tier society which is why there used to be millions of Christians and Hindu's living in Muslim nations but today there are almost none. To be fair again, it makes sense to me what this writer is doing. Because that is what (arguably) Christians have done many many years ago. Christianity evolved, it got separated from the state/politics and today we get to discuss freely about what the Bible is saying, what Jesus Christ meant, and so forth. So it absolutely makes sense that it could be time for Islam to do that as well, to stop taking the Quran literally word by word (politics, ideology) and start discussing it's deeper meaning (religion, path to god). That would give way to the possibility of decoupling the religion Islam from modern atrocities such as forced marriage, 2-tier societies, and so forth. But since that is not the case yet, then I am interested in understanding Islam, the Muslims worldwide, their culture, ideology and everything that is in it's current form. Therefor I would like to read a real clear Quran, and not someone's personal preference.
