Great resin for delicate prints
After experimenting with 'mix this resin with that one', other 'durable', or 'flexible' resins TMG-7 has become my go-to resin for my small minis business. The flexibility and strength live up to the hype and the surface quality is as close to 'real plastic' as I've come across. It holds great detail and the overall quality are exactly what I want for my prints. PROS - Durability - This resin is seriously durable. This isn't a unbreakable miracle material but it does withstand alot of abuse, drops and mishandling. I am constantly impressed when even tiny details like fingers, claws and skinny tails don't break after getting dropped on the cement floor. Glue joints are consistently weaker than any part of the print itself. I don't have to worry that my customer's minis will break on them or that my own 20hr+ paint job will be ruined when the mini takes a drop and shatters. - Easy to Modify - You can use a hobby knife to clean up or make modifications without the print chipping or breaking. It sands easily and support marks are easy to clean up when necessary. - Finish - Properly cleaned and cured the resin has a lovely satin finish and texture that is comparable to 'real plastic'. It also doesn't get white marks or discoloration when scuffed or sanded. It also takes paint well without primer. It's a nice neutral grey color. - Great Details - TGM7 prints details great and the consistency of the "top" surfaces and "support side" surfaces is really nice. - Documentation - Ameralabs has user guides on their site with effective tips on settings, improving surface finish and the best way to clean prints. - Consistent - I run this material in multiple printers with only small tweaks to the print settings. Once you get the settings dialed in and good support settings it is highly reliable. It doesn't settle nearly as much as some other resins I've used. CONS - Cost - I can't argue that this stuff is expensive, but I do feel its worth it for a reliable material that supports my expectations for quality. No more experiments on mixing up custom resin blends. That said, for larger models I print hollow or use cheaper materials. - Fussy - It took a little more work to get TGM7 printing well. As other reviews mention the resin is more sensitive to overhangs and doesn't like long flat sections. Supports don't need to be super beefy but they do need to be in the right spots. - Slow - Quite a bit slower that ABS-Like Fast resins and may require additional "rest" or "light off delay" time on top of the longer exposure time. Trying to print too fast can have blooming issues that you don't usually see with thinner resins among other problems since the resin is so thick. - More work to clean - A two stage cleaning process with an initial soak has really improved the cleaning process, gets the inside of hollow prints cleaner and helps my IPA last longer. Prints also need to be completely dry before curing or you might get shiny spots.

TGM-7 Resin: The Perfect Solution for 15mm Miniature Printing
Introduction: Over the course of the last decade, my search for the ideal resin for 3D printing 15mm miniatures has led me to try numerous options. However, one resin stands out from the rest as the ultimate solution for my needs: TGM-7. As a dedicated historical wargamer, the 15mm scale presents its own unique challenges, particularly when it comes to durability. Thankfully, TGM-7 has come to my rescue, providing a perfect balance between print quality and robustness. In this review, I'll outline the key features and benefits of TGM-7, which has revolutionized my hobby experience. Print Quality and Durability: TGM-7 resin not only excels in delivering exceptional print quality but also exhibits remarkable durability that withstands the test of time and intense gaming sessions. I can confidently attest to this resin's outstanding performance, as I have printed hundreds of miniatures using TGM-7 without experiencing any breakage or significant damage. Even during extended gaming sessions or when loaning out armies to fellow wargamers, including those who might have had a few too many beers, TGM-7 has proven its reliability. The miniatures printed with this resin have consistently demonstrated exceptional resilience, resisting accidental drops, impacts, and rough handling that often occur during intense gaming moments. The robust nature of TGM-7 resin ensures that the delicate components, such as pikes, remain intact, even under the pressure of intense gameplay. This level of durability brings peace of mind, allowing me to fully enjoy my gaming sessions without the constant worry of fragile models breaking or getting damaged. Whether it's passing on my armies to fledgling wargamers or engaging in extended gaming sessions, TGM-7 resin has consistently demonstrated its ability to withstand the rigors of real-world usage. It has become my go-to resin not only for its print quality but also for its exceptional durability, providing a reliable solution that exceeds expectations. Simplicity and Convenience: Prior to discovering TGM-7, I often found myself engaging in a trial-and-error process, attempting to mix different resins to strike the perfect balance between durability and print quality. This approach was time-consuming, frustrating, and yielded inconsistent results. However, TGM-7 has simplified the entire process, eliminating the need for experimentation and guesswork. This resin provides a reliable and consistent solution, sparing me from the role of a "garage scientist." With TGM-7, I can focus on the creative aspects of my hobby, confident in the resin's performance. As an added boon, the resin doesn't separate nearly as much as other resins, meaning that when my printer goes cold for a few days, I don't have to get the gloves out and reconstitute it. I usually just let the platten go to zero-20mm a few times to slosh it around a bit and I'm off to the races. Cost and Value: While it's true that TGM-7 comes with a higher price tag compared to some other resins on the market, the old adage "you get what you pay for" rings true in this case. The exceptional print quality, coupled with the durability that TGM-7 offers, makes it worth the investment. In the long run, the reduced frustration and time spent on reprinting or repairing broken models far outweigh the initial cost. TGM-7 allows me to enjoy my hobby to the fullest, without compromising on quality or sacrificing the longevity of my miniatures. Conclusion: In my quest to find the perfect resin for 3D printing 15mm miniatures, TGM-7 has emerged as the clear winner. Its ability to deliver outstanding print quality, coupled with remarkable durability, makes it the ideal choice for historical wargamers like myself. TGM-7 simplifies the printing process, sparing me from unnecessary experimentation, and allows me to focus on the joy of creating and gaming. While it may be a bit more expensive, the value it brings to my hobby experience far exceeds the cost. If you're looking for a resin that strikes the perfect balance between print quality and durability, TGM-7 is the answer.

This Stuff Is Magic
Miniatures printed using this resin simply never break. It's durable, flexible, and hard, and it captures detail just as well as high quality resins from other brands (SirayaTech Fast and Phrozen Aqua are my favorites). The only drawbacks are the price, and that the resin is more difficult to print with. Supporting models requires extra care and attention because of the high flexibility (overhangs WILL delaminate without sufficient support). It is more viscous and requires higher rest/LOD times for good results. Ameralabs does not recommend high lift speeds, but I have found that extreme high speeds ("vroom") work just as well as very low speeds if supported well. Ameralabs does recommend hollowing, and this seems warranted to not only sufficiently prevent delamination, but also to save as much material as possible (did I mention this stuff is expensive?). Overall, this is the best resin I've found for printing miniatures. You might get better results with a mix, but I've found that to be fraught with inconsistent results. Save time and get this.

Very Durable and holds details good enough for me.
First of all, I hate alcohol cleaning resin. I use this for my tabletop minis and they are remarkably strong. Well worth the Fuss of having to clean the resin with alcohol. I've dropped every single one of my prints at some point and the insurance of knowing it'll be intact when i pick it up is amazing. A friend recommended this to me and recommended a longer than average cure time, which was fine with me. That person uses this resin for their professional prints. Holds detail as well as anything i've used thus far.

I always like to test these resins on my Monocubic M5 with the same settings as standard resin. This resin worked well on these settings (including my 25 degree heater in the printer). It produced some nice clear results which were very pretty. I found that if you over-cure the resin, it will turn slightly yellow like many cured resins, so you will need to watch that. If you wash and clean the resin off the print, it will cure to a translucent, dull surface. However, if you are careful, you can cure the piece with out cleaning the resin (watch for any drops). This will give you a lovely shiny result. You can also achieve this by dipping your print in the resin after it has been initially cured, then cure it again. This will also give you a nice, clean and clear print.

Quality seems great. I like the color, and it works pretty ideally for being ready to paint immediately. Feels robust, and relatively drama free. Would definitely not mind using this again, but it's a tough call given that they are not aiming for being competitive per quantity. I'd probably only use it in something for personal use that I wanted to be sure had this specific quality to it. For anything I'm doing regularly, there are just more competitive options. It's a nice option suited for strengthening small & detailed projects. Likes: - Color works great, and is ideal for painting right out of the oven. - Robust quality. Seems more durable than some lower end stuff I've tinkered with. - Odor isn't as bad as lower end stuff either. Dislikes: - Not finding this in the bargain bin. Though quality is an important attribute, I think remaining competitive is too. And this one makes it tough to compete with some of the bargains out there.

Tried this resin in my Elegoo Saturn 2, and was really pleased with the results. I couldn't find any suggested print settings in my slicer's resin database but a bit of fiddling around with exposure tests got me pretty dialed in. The prints were really sharp and detailed, and also pretty tough, similar to ABS type resins I've used before but with the extra advantage of being clear. It took a bit of trial and error with washing and cure routines to get the resin to stay clear when cured, but the same is true for any other clear resin I've tried. Handling wise, I had no issues and it seemed a bit less noxious than some others I've used. While the results were impressive, I'm not sure for my personally they quite merited the rather astounding price. It's great resin and produces outstanding results, but perhaps my printer and/or models aren't capable of enough detail to truly take advantage. It might make sense for commercial use perhaps but for me for purely hobby use I can't really justify the price.
