Q: This say to use in water below 150 hardness but recommended hardness for hot tub water is above 150? So I leave my spa water at 80 hardness increase?

If you're calcium level is too high, your water will turn milky white and you'll have to get it all filtered out and then clean the filter really well. This product still works if your hardness is high (should still last about 4 months, depending on the size of your tub), but it can be frustrating to clean up after. 80 ppm should enable you to use this product without issue and is only slightly outside the recommended 100-200 ppm range.

Q: How much do you use to treat a 300 gallon spa?

Once your spa is at the proper pH level, you would use the entire contents of the bottle. You would only need more than that if your spa was over 500 gallons.

Q: can this be used if you have very hard water

This product is for use with soft water only (below 150ppm). If you have hard water (higher than 150ppm) you must use Leisure Time Ph Balance PLUS! Just don’t forget to make sure your pH is between 7.2-7.8 before applying this product. Only then will it help hold your pH in range between refills.
