Great lock
I love this lock. It perfectly fit our escape room purpose. The instructions were very good. A template for the door was even provided. It WILL be necessary to cut an additional hole in the door, but the template makes it easy. The reason for the additional hole is that the lock keypad is on the front of the lock and the batteries are on the other side of the door. I really like that the battery pack uses an Allen wrench to open the cover. This makes it much more secure than just pressure to open or using a Phillips screwdriver. It has a feature called passage mode that works great for our escape room as you don't need to keep entering the code. With passage mode programmed on, the door stays unlocked until you press the # key a second time after entering the code. This might not be something that you may typically want to be turned on, but it works great for our escape room guests. My only complaint is that the remote control that comes with the device uses an odd battery, not the typical CR2032. This is like a short Double A. Unfortunately the type of battery required is not mentioned, or I missed it, in the instructions or the case of the remote control. This is not significant for our use but could be of use in personal use. The code can be up to 10 digits in length, which is awesome. It also allows you to enter random digits before and/or after the code to prevent someone from seeing the exact code you are using. I believe it allows up to 20 characters for this feature, which includes the actual code. Thus you could use 5 random digits before and another 5 digits after along with a 10 digit code if you wanted to confuse someone that may be watching while you enter the code. One additional feature worth mentioning is that you can turn the handles around by using an Allen wrench. This means you can easily install the doorknob on the right side or left side of the door. Just remove and turn the handles 180 degrees on each both sides to prevent it hitting the door jam. A CON is that the key is NOT a standard key and copies cannot be made. I believe another reviewer commented on this. It is a semi-circular key that is inserted on the side of the cylinder and as such is not something that your typical key cutter/locksmith could duplicate. I've attached a photo of the keys so you can hopefully see the curve on one side and the key grooves on the second side. I've also included a photo of the battery container for the remote so maybe you will know the type of batter required.

Great looking lock that works well and seems to be high quality.
I just had a chance to install this and I really like the way it looks and operates! The instructions were obviously written by someone who's first language wasn't English but I was able to follow them. I installed this on a commercial steel door that already had a commercial lockset installed. One of the problems I had was that my old lockset was larger than this one so I had to fabricate a backplate to cover the holes. I was able to do this but many people will not. If installed on a standard residential type door this should work fine and cover the holes. Milling the door is a bit tricky for the slot that the wire goes through. I milled it per the template but this hole really could be rectangular and be cut with a jig saw if necessary. I'm not sure about the longevity of this lockset yet but I would think it will do well since it's stainless steel. Another thing to note is that it needs 4-AA batteries and they aren't included. the key fob also needs a special battery which I have yet to locate. Hopefully it will be readily available. I don't really plan to use it though so I'm not in a hurry for that battery. I would recommend this lock for it's appearance, price, function and features.

I love this lock (using it at home on an interior door)
I love this lock! It meets or exceeds my expectations, both in quality/craftsmanship, and ease of installation. The recent 5 hour sale where the sale price fell below $100 made it a bargain. Believe it or not I am using this lock on our bedroom door. My sister in law (just retired) will be coming to live with us in a few months. She will have a lot of time on her hands, and I have been forewarned by her children as well as other family members that due to her nosy nature she wouldn't think twice about exploring our personal space. The lock we replaced only locked from the inside (but could be opened with a paper clip on the outside), and I also did not want to be walking around with a bunch of keys so this type of lock seemed like the logical choice. I read an earlier review that the combination keycodes would have to be at least six digits and I am okay with this, using six digits that I would never forget. I also purchased a five pack of the 12 volt batteries needed for the remote control (other Amazon users have done the same) as it is not a common 12 volt battery and may be hard to find at the box hardware stores. I also like the fact that the lock speaks when the door is locked or unlocked, and that the pretty blue number pad is not always lit up (to draw attention to itself). Finally, the most important thing that I can leave you with is, don't throw out the allen wrench(s) that come with the lock. You need them to reverse the handle and to open the battery compartment to replace the 4 AA batteries (not included) which power the lock.

DO NOT BUY THIS.
This lock worked great for about 2.5 months. Then, even though the signal was being passed from the key fob to the lock, the mechanism that engaged the handle to allow opening stopped working. I emailed the company early last week, their webpage says 3 day turnaround on customer service, I haven't heard a peep from them. And then last night after I put my keys in my valet tray after being in my new garage (using an actual key on the handle/lock that came with the garage which I had previously replaced) the piece connecting the key fob to my key chain broke. All in all I'd say that this whole setup is GARBAGE. As far as I can tell I am out about $120 including the lock and extra fobs we bought. DO NOT BUY THIS.

Strong door lock but tricky installation
The door lock is actually really nice and made of food materials, it doesn't look cheap at all! The only issue is 1) it doesn't come with remote battery and it takes a special battery (27A) which is not easy to find.. 2) the paper provided to mark the holes aren't accurate as it only works for 1 size doors which i didn't have so I had to come up with my own measurements and ended up doing my own thing but overall, installation took like 15 min and it works perfect like a charm and the remote has a good range.. it's so easy to setup the remote and the fobs.

I would buy again for my garage
Really like this product; Love that it talks, but not too loudly to disturb anyone. Simple setup, easy to understand instructional video that I still refer to when setting up new users. My only “complaint” is the remote control. It takes an annoying size of battery. I would have preferred it take some type of button battery that is easy to find/replace. I haven’t been able to use the remote because I have to go buy a specific battery. And for the quality of everything else, you would think that they would throw in the first battery for the remote. BUT they do give you plenty of keys and 2 access cards (which my fiancé and I both actually use the most) and the unit itself is great. I can’t see myself using the remote anyways, so it’s not a big deal. 5 star product either way!

Everything to a T, but small issues (missing part) keep this from being the perfect door lock (EDIT)
It's a really nice lock, I'll admit it. It looks modern, has a ton of features and ways to open the door. Has unique keys and a mechanical lock system that is much trickier to pick than standard locks. You know all these details if you real their info page... But on the downsides, it's tough to install. Quite a bit tougher than your typical door lock. You'll need to modify your door for this lock to work with it. I had to borrow a drill to make holes for all these wires and things. I knew that going in but it's something to note. Another thing is the lock is sticky if that makes any sense. 1 out of 5 times when you release the handle is doesn't automatically return to the standard position and you have to manually push it back into place. It's not a huge deal but if you forget to reset the handle to horizontal position the door will remain open since the latch won't push back out, so all this extra security would go to waste. I tried loosening the screws from several places, tightening them, I fiddled with it for half an hour but I couldn't get rid of the stickyness, only minimize it. Another thing that was the cap over the keyhole was missing out of the box. I thought maybe I left it in the box and double checked or it fell on the floor during installation but no dice. The box was kinda squished and looked unsealed when I got it, almost like they packed it into a used box and send it out last second. Don't know if this was on Amazon or Haifuan but the point is: I never got that cap. Again, not a huge deal but when you pay 120 bucks for a fancy lock you expect all the parts will be there. Anyway other than that this lock is great. Like I said, it's modern, stylish, has a ton of features and is very secure, but there are little things that keep this from being perfect. Hopefully they address some of this for future locks. OH and make sure to include all the parts please! EDIT: So the company ended up shipping me a replacement cap no charge after I contacted them. Not only that but I managed to fix my issues with the "stickyness" I was describing earlier. Basically the problem was the latch screws were too tight but I couldn't un-tighten them without making them stick out too much. So I had to take apart the door and carve out deeper the square pit where the latch plate sits. Basically the plate needs to be a little bit sunken into the side of the door, not flush and not sticking out. Once I did that and put everything together I didn't need to overtighten the screws and now the door handle is smooth as butter! I won't take back what I said about this thing being a pain to install, this isn't a simple door lock replace, but once it's working perfect it's SO worth it! Now I don't need to get up to open the door for anyone I just use the remote! So what problems with this lock remain after this edit? Well two I can think of off the top of my head. One is the little screw for the battery cover, I wish it was a standard phillips head instead of that weird alen key bit so I wouldn't need to dig out that tool everytime I need to replace the batteries. And second is the codes need to be EXACTLY 6 digits for me. For some reason any less digits or any more digits and the code is useless making me have to reset the thing. Believe me I tried several codes both longer and shorter than 6 digits and only those of exactly 6 digits would work! Not a big deal for me but something to take note of. Overall I'm happy with the lock, and I'm impressed by Haifuan's customer service, I would buy again! EDIT I bought a second one of these a year ago. The one I bought in 2017 has slightly bigger buttons and the material the buttons are made of feels pretty different. And the one I bought in 2020 is already failing, the buttons sometimes wont register a press. Clearly they downgraded these. It's not just that they are failing, you can TELL the material is different and the buttons are a tad smaller. Unfortunately, I'd like to buy another one at some point but I'll have to look elsewhere.

4 years on one set of batteries!!!
It's been over 4 years since I bought this item. I am just now changing the batteries. I used standard alkaline batteries from BJs, nothing special. So, if you were to use lithium type batteries, who knows how long they will last. There was a audible siren warning, along with a verbal notification letting me know it was time to change the batteries. This item has performed perfectly. Not a single problem. I put it on my garage to interior door. So, no direct weather. I live in Florida, so not too cold. The batteries are on the inside of the door, so not too cold/hot. My only gripe is that the remote control does not "latch" the lock open. It only stays open for a short time before it closes. Only a problem for me since I tried to use the remote in my car to open the door on my way into the house. I am not fast enough to press the remote, in the car, an make it to the door. Not a big deal. Also, it requires a minimum of 6 digits. It would be nice if you could use any number of digits. Great product. Money well spent. Update: I just wanted to let everyone know that I save hotel room keys (and those waterproof wristbands from cruise ships) and program them with this door lock. To see if they work, I just place them near the keypad and listen for the error beeps. That way I know it read it and rejected it. Then, I just use the owner's manual instructions to "learn" the new card/wristband. The kids love it, since they now have their own cards.
