Great for changing water in my BiOrb tank
I recently bought a small BiOrb tank for my betta, and while it's not really that big, it does hold about 4 gallons -- way more than I can carry over to the sink for changing the water. I needed a way to pump out some of the water for partial changes without making a huge mess, and at first, I looked at the similar manual pump hose offered by BiOrb. Normally, I don't buy off-brand supplies for that tank, but this one seemed like a no-brainer, and sure enough, it works perfectly. It took me a minute or two to figure out how it works and get it to pump out the water at a good rate (you have to keep squeezing the little bulb while it's going), but in no time, I had a couple of gallons pumped out of the tank and was able to get things clean. The little grate over the end that goes in the water prevented it from picking up the stones on the bottom of the aquarium while leaving my little moss balls alone. Paired with Collapsible Bucket, cleaning my fish tank has never been easier!

Worked while it lasted
This product worked great while it lasted. I had this for just 4 months when the tube bent while in use and created a hole making it not work. The plastic was thin and I figured it wouldn’t last long but I didn’t think I’m 4 months I’d have to replace it. You get what you pay for.

Smaller pieces of gravel get sucked in but otherwise works great
Before I bought this, I was changing my tanks' water with a small jar and a bucket. It wasn't unmanageable, but it certainly took a while to scoop out 3 gallons of water and I wasn't getting the gravel cleaned at all. This reduced the time it took to change the water to less than 10 minutes and it's much better at getting the gravel cleaned. It has a basic filter (the "nozzle net") at the head to prevent gravel, fish, plants, etc. from getting sucked up, but some small pieces of gravel will still make it past. Not a big problem though; the nozzle can be removed and I just dump whatever gravel is in there back into the tank. The pump works great as long as the nozzle is elevated.

Meh. Too big. Doesn’t work on small tanks
This suction is not meant for small tanks like 2, 3, or 5 gallon tanks. I got this because I wanted to do partial water changes with my small beta tanks. It’s way too big for that. And if you have a lot of plants and ornaments in your tank there’s no way it will fit in there. I mean it will fit but it destroys everything and knocks it all over etc.it suctions good. Of course. That’s a system that works no matter what it is. It’s like siphoning gas. So that’s not the issueIf you are expecting small, it’s not small. Maybe for 20 gallon and up. But not small beta tanksIt also snapped when I rolled it up after destroying my 3 beta bowls with its hugenessGuess what I decided to do ? I got a Turkey baster. If you have small beta tanks, get you a turkey baster and that will help you do spot treatments on your gravel and partial water changes. This dude is just too big

Poor Quality
I have bought many aquarium siphons over the years, all have lasted a year or more. This aquarium siphon was noticeably more flimsy and bendy and seemed to be of significantly poorer quality. I should have returned it immediately but it seemed to work so I kept it passed the return window, now 5 weeks after purchase it is developing holes and sucks too much air to be usable. I would definitely not purchase this product from this seller again.

Works very well.
I have quite a small tank (advertised as 3.5 gallons, it's not. I can only fill it up with a bit over 2.5 gallons of water). This is a little large and having never used a siphon before it took a couple attempts before I got the hang of it, mostly because I was using the wrong end in the water to start with. The skinny end is the discharge and the end furthest from the blue bulb goes into your tank, just FYI. Once I actually read the directions, though, this worked very well. The siphon vacuum is designed rather like a strainer - I could see sand or microscopic gravel getting sucked into the tube, but I had no issues with my ordinary-sized gravel. This drained the water quickly and got a lot of waste off the bottom. It's not perfect, but I didn't expect it to be - my fish was thrust upon me as a white elephant gift and I've had to gradually get equipment one paycheck at a time. Daily water changes, which I've been doing, will not clear nearly a month's worth of grime off the bottom and I didn't expect one change using the siphon to do it either. I expect my betta is going to be a lot happier now that I can clean his tank properly and keep the nitrate levels down by being able to get rid of waste.

Cleaning made easy
I have just upgraded to a new 60 gallon tank. I was looking for a vacuum for the gravel that was long enough I could reach the bottom of my 25 in high tank without issue. This worked great. There is a barrier to stop the gravel from traveling up. If some managed to slip through you can easily unscrew the top and get it out. It took me only 1-2 squeezes to get the water flowing. I was impressed with the suction and the amount of dirt that I could lift. I would recommend this to all tank owners. The smaller head means it can get into tight places. This is a must for all fish tank holders.

Excellent
This is an excellent piece of kit for cleaning out my aquarium. I've tried others before but they've been useless, difficult to get the siphon going and even then poor suction. This is a doddle to use and is powerful enough to do its job!!! Very pleased
