Waffles and Pancake: Planetary-YUM: 1

“Waffles and Pancake – Planetary-Yum” is a 58-page (including chapter breaks) comic-book story for younger readers, featuring the adventures of Waffles, one of the cats from the Catstronauts series, when he was a kitten, along with his sister Pancake (an unfortunate name for a cat, particularly if you remember Fat Freddy’s Cat’s story about his uncle Frisbee).Waffles, if you’ve read any Catstronauts stories, you will remember is the one who is always eating, and here he, his sister, and Dad-Cat, are all very interested in meals, of which several are partaken of during their day out to visit the Science Museum.They visit several exhibits at the museum, allowing for many cat-puns, and the Planetarium of course gives us the title of the book.This was a pleasant, humorous and entertaining read, though the one bit of excitement/dread/horror comes when the two kittens get separated from Dad-Cat and are worried that they might have to live in the museum forever. Fortunately, they are sensible enough to ask a member of staff for help in locating the missing parent.This is not a long series of events like the Catstronauts series, but just a short, enjoyable story for younger readers, who may, like Waffles, want to go on to be a Catstronaut.
