Could not agree with negative reviews.
The google assistant button is very helpful located on the left side. If the Nokia 8.3 is set up properly, there are few accidental starts of the google assistant. The face recognition and fingerprint for unlocking the phone works exceptionally well. The camera has a learning curve which takes practice to understand what effects to use. Once learned you can get excellent results. There are many tools to help you once you know all of the amazing features. Some of the negative reviews made me hesitant to buy the phone but I'm happy that I overlooked them.

Best android phone
This was by far the best android phone Iâve ever owned and Iâve had them all. Flagship Galaxies, HTCâs flagship, LGâs flagship. This phone never had problems locking up or running any app. Huge battery life and excellent antennaeâs and wifi

To make it short - avoid.
The Nokia 8.3 5G was an interesting addition to the Nokia lineup when it first made its debut. Crafted with a distinct focus on design and robustness, the phone easily stood out as both nice to look at and well-built, which, to many, reflected the old-school Nokia's legacy of delivering sturdy phones. The large 6.81-inch FHD+ display made for a pleasant viewing experience, and the PureDisplay technology which it came with ensured that visuals were both sharp and vibrant. However, it's been a while since its launch, and the phone has now reached its end of life. This means no more updates, a fact that many tech enthusiasts and users find hard to swallow, especially when regular updates are crucial for security and feature enhancements.A major shortcoming, and perhaps a deal-breaker for many tech-savvy users, was the fact that the Nokia 8.3 5G's bootloader could not be unlocked. This prevented users from installing custom firmware, essentially limiting them to the phone's default operating system and features. For those accustomed to tweaking their devices for optimal performance or introducing new custom features, this was a significant letdown.Further compounding these challenges was HMD's supportâor, more aptly, the lack thereof. Despite initial promises and expectations, updates were not issued regularly. When users tried to reach out for assistance or clarity, they were often met with unresponsive support channels. In an age where customer support can make or break a brand's reputation, this was an undeniable oversight.Adding to its features, the Nokia 8.3 5G did boast a versatile quad-camera setup led by a 64MP main sensor. This allowed for decent photography sessions, especially in well-lit environments. The phone's 5G capabilities, as the name suggests, were also among its main selling points, promising faster download and upload speeds, smoother streaming, and enhanced online gaming. In conclusion, while the Nokia 8.3 5G had its merits, and indeed carried with it a touch of Nokia's renowned build quality, its shortcomings, especially in the realms of software flexibility and post-purchase support, made it a mixed bag for many users. As the device now sunsets, one can only hope future offerings from the brand will learn from these missteps.

Night light and grey scale stopped working when playing full screen video
I like this phone, however there's an annoying problem. When my work profile is turned on, playing full screen video turns night light off automatically. I'm not sure whose issue this is, but my Nokia 5.3 or 5.4 does not have this issue with same work profile.

NOT COMPATIBLE WITH AT&T or STRAIGHT TALK/Other AT&T Network providers!!
Bought this phone in November 2021. Straight Talk customer (AT&T towers). Started getting voice messages & Texts warning me that my phone was not compatible with the "new network". I figured they were confused: They didn't know that I had swapped my SIM out of my old Nokia 6.1. Turns out- I WAS WRONG. This phone is NOT COMPATIBLE with AT&T AT ALL. It might say "4G" but guess what: They won't let you use it on their network! 2 days ago, they SHUT ME OFF. Therefore I am now without service until I switch to Mint Mobile .. which uses T-Mobile. SIGH!!!
