An inspiration
I have never read a book that was so fascinating and compulsive to read on the one hand, but so very hard to hear on the other. Magical insights into the beauty of nature interspersed with hard truths and a call to action. Researched in breadth and depth, a must read for anyone who enjoys or cares about nature. Well done both Chris and Magan.

Brilliant read!
I loved this book! I love both Meghan and Chris and found it a very insightful read. If you love nature and the environment you will love this book. It was also filled with facts and information on ways to help out from home! this lead me on to a lot of other useful conservation sites etc!

Inspirational
This book is a must read for people looking to understand the challenges our ecology is facing in the UK, from the attacks by specific groups invested in maintaining the status quo and feckless governments/government groups, to impotent environmental charities and institutions this book shows how much we have lost, and how hard it is to drag the country kicking and screaming to progress. The book provides handy advice of things you can do in your own back garden and shows that there is hope for the future if we work together to actually make a difference.

Insightful, relatable and highly relevant
I love this book. It's engaging and perfectly transmits the two authors' passion for nature and the life in it. It's very accessible to readers without a scientific background, but even biologists find it informative and insightful (tested this on my family). Most of all, however, especially as it has been written during the current worldwide pandemic, it is extremely relevant and investigates the human relationship with nature from a variety of angles.I believe its accessibility can inspire action in newcomers to the topic of environmental protection, but it also hardens the resolve and determination of those already committed to protecting life. All life. So do yourself a favour and read. this. book.
