Mother Nature's concept of an Alluvial Fan, or Plain, is a better method of extracting gold and is what this sluicebox is based on. This design creates a continuously lowering water pressure zone, allowing gold of different sizes and weights to drop out of suspension at different intervals. Entire length of the sluice box works as a constant capture system. Sluice is 19 inches long, 6.25 inches at header box widening to 8 5/8 inches at tailing end. 23 inch length overall with plumbing and ball valve. Sides are 3 inches tall. This Alluvial Sluice Box has an aluminum "slick plate" for mixing of water and concentrates. These ribs help to catch the smallest flecks of gold. From the slick plate the material goes into the small ribbed matting for catching the small flour gold. Next, it flows over another section of ribbed aluminum which creates more friction and another mixing area, where the material's speed is increased slightly in order to drop out any remaining pieces of gold on the larger ribbed matting. Matting in this sluice allows for larger sized material to be run, 12 mesh (1/8″) and up to 1/4 inch. Sluice is constructed from 5052 16-gauge aluminum (1/16 inch). It has a high fatigue strength and excellent corrosion resistance. Small compact size makes it easy to use anywhere.
