Q: Would you recommend the Y shirt stays or the Originals?

It all comes down to preference and they will both keep your shirt tucked. The Y's are the best seller and they only have 2 straps versus the Originals that have 4. The great thing is that with the 4 straps on the Originals, they could be placed anywhere you wish. The Y straps would be placed on the side of each leg.

Q: Is there a sock less attachment?

Yes, there is a footstrap (stirrup) design. Not exactly sure how it's used. Probably put your feet through before putting on socks. I generally like the Y-design with clip. A long time ago I used two single straps on each leg. The Y-design is so much nicer.

Q: Which is better the straight or the Y clips. I know this is really preferance..::

Yes, it is all about preference. The Y clips only come with two straps where as the straight clips "Originals" come with 4 straps. The Originals could be placed anywhere you wish on your shirt and pants where as the Y's would only be placed on the side of each leg.
