Review: My toddler has been turning the pages on this book quickly. The activities are fun for her. She gets to use her imagination when creating an outfit for a chicken, imagining which animals would be good for pets, and decorating glasses. I also see that the activities are having her think outside the box. She's been used to activity books that are pretty straightforward and include mazes, pattern recognition, connect the dots, etc. but this book has her drawing her family, drawing items of a particular color, drawing a dream, drawing her feelings. The book is filled with such a variety of activities that allow her to explore topics we don't normally touch on but it also includes activities that allow her to define more about who she is. For instance, what she looks like, her birthday, how she feels, what she likes, what are her favorite animals, foods, etc. It is allowing her to verbalize and express more about herself which I can see is positively affecting her attitude. Also, it's making her use her imagination and creativity which I can see has been challenging her in a good way. She is taking a moment to think before diving in. If you get this book, be prepared that you will have to sit with your child. While it has some coloring and drawing activities, you can't walk away because there are a lot of instructions. There can be multiple per page if they're shorter activities. Some activities are quick and some are longer but I sit next to her, read what she needs to do, and let her take over. It's not my activity book, so I DO sit on my hands so as not to interrupt. Occasionally, she needs to get my guidance/encouragement to understand more of what she has to do, but the gears start turning and she gets on by herself. My daughter is 16 and severely autistic. I am always on the lookout for workbooks I can use with her, ones that match her academic level while not talking down to her. She's always liked Todd Parr books, and so have I, and this workbook is great! I love how it is truly inclusive, with all kinds and shapes and colors and ages of people. It's also unusually creative for a workbook. Many of the pages let you draw creatively with a cue, like drawing your pet or the pet you would like to have, or one to draw people dancing (which shows as an example a boy in a wheelchair dancing). There is some basic counting and writing, done in a fun way. One page I loved asked which two people on the page looked the same. The answer was that none of them looked the same, and that was so cool! It made you think outside the box a bit! Highly recommended workbook!

This book is really cute! As to be expected with Todd Parr. The stickers are at the end of the book and don’t really get used during the book activity process. There is an answer key at the back of the book which I don’t really feel is necessary! This book is related for PreK to K but for me this book is more of a Kindergarten and not PreK. There are some pages that even my 1st grader would do well. So maybe I’d call it K-1st and not PreK-K. It’s a really good book and I think it would be a great gift for a kindergartener! The book is funny and has some great activities. I really like that they include feelings activities. I haven’t found that in other books like this and I’m a big fan!

My son recently began daycare and has generally had a good time with it, but I was excited about this as one of the books my wife and I most read to him is The Thankful Book by Todd Parr. The art style is simple, colorful, and fun, and the message is nice. This activity book is thematically and artistically similar. The activities are generally simple, including writing, drawing, coloring in, numbers, dates, favorites, feelings, and more. My son has been consistently engaged, although some of the activities are beyond him (he's 3), he's able to complete them with help. For example, he's not familiar enough with letters to write his own name or spell anything yet, but he can dictate the letters in some words and draw them with help. In general, he really likes looking at a few pages at a time, and I believe these have helped with his adjustment to going to daycare. Recommended!
