Wow, great read and started out good and ended great. Morgan is a rookie officer but gets to work as a detective along with Ben, her boss, and Amy, a partner. They have to find a killer and evidence. It takes lots of twist and turns and you can't stop reading.Would recommend to anyone who likes a good read and a crime story.

This was my first time reading this author and I am so glad I gave her a chance. I really enjoyed the entire book. It's so nice to read a book where I didn't want to throttle the main character. I found this one to be well written and actually believable. Go ahead and give this story a chance, you'll be glad you did, I know I am.

I really love British Copper stories, and this one didn’t disappoint me. The characters were brought to life, and I found myself liking them a lot. Horrific murders of course, and solved perfectly. On to the next book.

Awesome book, kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat. I kept bouncing back and forth with who I thought the killer was, and was kept guessing until close to the end. Can’t wait for the rest of the series and to see what happens with Morgan and Ben.

Dragged a bit. Authors fantasy would never happen in the real world.Other than that, its pretty good for a first novel.

This book was recommended to me, and I enjoyed it. Morgan, Ben and Amy make a great team, though I hope Dan gets what he deserves someday. It was an interesting mystery, and though not too complicated to figure out, it was well written and held my interest. I will read more of this series.

Great new series I am so glad I found it. I had ideas on who did it but wasn’t totally sure. Great plot and characters.

This is a great book I couldn't put it down. You would never suspect the people who killed the families. Officer Morgan Brooke's was suppose to be temporary. She had graduated and was mentored by a colleague in her unit. When another unit was short handed they picked Morgan because the guy the detective in charge of the unit she was assigned to temporary ( Ben ) didn't like the guy who mentored her . Thr guy who mentored her before she was temporary reassigned let her ask questions and was very helpful. They got along great so she couldn't understand why all of a sudden he disliked her. She found out after she was working for the temporary unit that he wanted her spot. She worked alot and saw some gruesome things. But Ben who was training her realized he liked her. He had stopped living only doing his job once his wife died 3 years ago. When Morgan was almost killed she was given time off to heal. When she came back to work where she worked the little office she was given was empty of everything so she though that meant she was going back to her old unit. Then she was surprised when she was welcomed back and given a new office.

Enjoyed reading this book. I had difficulty putting down to attend to my daily routine.

Fantastic page turner .. lots of twists and turns in the plot have just bought the next book in the series

Eben war Morgan Brookes noch Streifenpolizistin, schon löst sie selbstständig zwei Mordfälle, und die erfahrenen Kollegen schauen sprachlos zu. Brookes wirkt ziemlich naiv, was im Gegensatz zu ihren Erfolgen steht. Trotz einiger Längen unterhaltsam.

Good story entwained with lots of twists and turns You will never guess who the killer is. Enjoy the book

Ho comprato questo libro per esercitare la lettura in inglese e sono veramente contenta. E' un giallo, con pochi protagonisti, quindi abbastanza facile da seguire. Non lo posso valutare dal punto di vista letterario, comunque comprerò altri libri con la detective Morgan Brooks... mi sono affezionata a lei e il suo modo di affrontare la vita.
