connect wii to a wall mounted tv
Removing a heavy tv from the wall just to connect and disconnect devices. bought this to connect our Wii to our tv, since we leave hdmi cables connected and we only have to connect them to the devices we want to use. I didn't want to keep the Wii AV cords connected because we were may want to move it to other display screeds which we do often. So I searched for a solution and found this. It does the trickTwo negatives: first, the picture quality definitely isn't HD but because of the other reviews, I didn't expect it to be perfect. And secondly, the connection isn't consistent. Not that it disconnects while using but when you turn it on after its been off and I want to turn it on, every now and then my tv doesn't detect the connection. But after disconnecting and reconnecting, it usually works.

Unreliable for video game consoles.
I bought this as a gap measure while I'm still working on a better video connection solution for a whole bunch of older video game consoles... and the device worked!Sort-of.Consoles tested: Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, Nintendo GamecubeResults:The Genesis and Gamecube both worked... once. Basically, you have to have the adapter plugged in before the console powers on. It will work, but you cannot unplug that console without having to power cycle the adapter, and even then it wasn't reliably working afterward. The N64 didn't work at all. Now, to be fair, this is a cheap adapter and I probably shouldn't expect much, but it doesn't even satisfy what I was trying to do with it.

Works great for hooking up a Gamecube to a Hisense LED TV
Bought this to hook up my Gamecube to my Hisense TV. Works great. The TV has a usb port so that powers the unit and I've been using it for about 3 weeks now without any audio/video problems. The picture isn't HD by any means but nobody should expect that. I'm definitely happy though because a component cable for a Gamecube costs a ridiculous amount of money and TV's don't have RCA anymore

Double Check your input versus output before ordering
This product does exactly what it should do. It took my Yellow, White, Red cable (RCA Composit Cable) and turned it into a HDMI output. I do have to caution you when you buy this product. Make sure that you are getting the output and input types correctly. I have ordered it in reverse. This caused a delay in wiring my system since it did not work for my current set up, Once I reordered and had the correct input and output setup. So please double check the cables you have to see what you need as the output and input before ordering.

Great for Single Video
Excellent adapter for the price, but with only one video input, it's not suitable for a device with the two extra video leads, as it only provides a black & white picture. Considered using a Y connector to cross two video leads, then discovered the player had a semi-hidden HDMI output, so I didn't even need it. Not expensive, so I'm keeping it for possible future use with an older (single video) player upstairs.

Its ok in a crunch
I bought this item to play my old NES on my flat screen tv. There was too much of a delay to play any interactive games such as Mario or Dr. Mario. Im not sure why but there is a 1-1.5 second delay when I use this item

Good converter for what I need it for.
I first tested this by connecting a Nintendo 64 to my home theater projector. The image was unusually dark. I then hooked it up to an old VCR and watched a movie. I thought this converter was doing a poor job because the color was cycling back and forth between normal and sort of an orange hue. I tried contacting the seller but got no reply. This is the reason for the 4 stars. In the meantime I tried another VHS tape through it and it looked a lot better. I think it was a bad tape the first time. I'll continue to monitor its performance. There is a switch on the converter for 720 or 1080. It doesn't seem to do anything, at least for my application. Absolutely no noticeable change.Oh, one other thing... I am using this on a projector which projects onto a screen. The image from the projector when running native 16:9 is aligned perfectly with the screen. When I use this converter as the source, I notice that the image does not fully fill the screen. Pretty close...maybe 98%. Doesn't bother me really. When watching a crappy VHS tape, that's the least of my concerns. But, it is noticeable.Hopefully the device lasts as long as it takes for me to watch all these VHS tapes I inherited. Currently, I would not count on post purchase support. This remains to be seen.

Great adapter for new TVs with older Consoles!
I had purchased a 43" 4K Element TV as a Door Buster at Target on Black Friday and to my surprise, my old PS2 didn't work when playing PS1 games. Ironically this was hooked up to Component with an aftermarket cable that I had purchased years ago so I figured I would be just fine; well mistakes were made. This adapter saved my hide because it worked perfectly with the TV and a few other older consoles including my Sega Genesis and SNES. If you have old school consoles this adapter can avoid a lot of trouble with newer TVs.
