Good, not great
I love the concept. Lets start with the good. It does not spill! I love that you can pick it up and go with ease. There is a flaw in the physics though. Unless the jug is full, there isn’t enough water to fill the bowl.*UPDATE: My assessed flaw was do to user-error. Unscrew the bowl to auto refill. No complaints, this is an awesome travel solution!

Clever and useful portable water container
This bowl is a LIFE SAVER!!Friends of mine have some of these and when I rescued my pup this summer I knew I had to find this! The bowl stays in my car for water on the road, including trips to visit family, dog parks, and road trip water. I live in a state that turns off water at parks in the winter due to freezing temps, so this is crazy handy to have when visiting dog parks as an easy source of water. I keep it in the car, filled, and have yet to have any leaks. Took a 3-state road trip with the pup and left this in the back seat (on a pet seat cover hammock) so the pup could have a drink as needed and there were no messes. It is also convenient for visiting family who don’t have pets to have this water container handy. It is a sturdy, hard plastic that hasn’t cracked despite freezing with water inside of it. The lid can be hard to twist off to clean at times, but in general this is a heck of an idea. It took a moment for my pup to figure out that there is indeed plenty of water in it (it looks like there is only a tiny bit) but now she has no problem using it. There is no cover to go over the lid so it can splash a bit when walking with it if it is filled too high, but other wise I strongly recommend!!

Working out well
It can be spilled, but your dog needs to work at it. The first time I put this into the crate with my German Shepherd puppy who is almost three months old he had dumped about half the water out by tipping it over on it's side within a half hour or so. I had to take his bedding and him out and clean it up. He was NOT happy about it!The next day, tried again, and it appears he has learned his lesson and didn't dump it again. Now it's working very well - he can get water any time he wants, but it's not easily spilled when he's just sleeping and moving around. So, it's a big win, since he was smart enough to figure out he does not want to dump it. :D Now I can leave him there for a while without worrying about him getting thirsty or hungry. We are both happy campers! I'm sure it's going to be a big help when he's taken out and about in the car too.More on this item: Dog is now 5 months old. I found that if I didn't put something hard in there for him to chew, he would resort to the water bowl, putting holes in it so it didn't work properly. So, if you put in into a crate with your dog, make sure you have something else for them to chew on that is hard. Also noticed that he has figured out that if he puts his paw and some weight on the big part, it pushes more water into the bowl and he can drink it faster. As soon as he lifts his paw, what's left gets sucked back and it goes back down to the usual level. Smart dog! So, it works well for a bigger dog like him that is pushing 60 lbs now.All it all, I'm happy with this. It keep him from pawing the water, making a mess, and makes sure it's contained, along with being handy in the car. As long as I can keep him from chewing it! I'm thinking about getting a hanging waterer for his crate, because this takes up too much room now that he's gotten so much bigger, but this is great for car use.

Excellent Travel Bowl
This is a great bowl! I have people at the dog park always asking me where I got this (I demand a commission!!) It works great in the car and I take it to the park. The water stays at a low level to help keep from spilling along with the blue screw top design. If I don't want other dogs sticking their dirty little noses in my bowl, I can just flip it upside down until my dog is ready to drink. The dogs seem to flock to it. I have had this for over a year and recently bought a second one as a spare. I have an 80lb Shepherd mix who has prefers this over his giant water dish at home. Weirdo.Note: Larger/wider head dogs like the bulldog, may not be able to get their face in there to drink. The inside dimension of cap is 3.875” wide and it tapers down. It’s 3” deep.Be warned: it does spill at 45 degree angles. The pictures are for scale. My dog likes to lie down while he drinks at the park (gets kinda pooped out) and the other dog is a little puppy.

Not the best for bigger doggies
if your dog is say 20lbs or less i can see this being a really good solution. It doesn’t spill out water while driving and you can just lift with he handle and not have to worry about spilling. But the water level is so low larger dogs may not be able to get much water and loose interest. You can push down on the container to raise the water level enough larger dogs can get more per slurp but that negates the putting it in your car while you drive and let the dog drink. The amount of water is great, but that hole opening……. limits things. So for smaller dogs this is an easy yes to buy. For larger dogs i would reconsider if you can’t squeeze the container while they drink.

buy one for each of your cars. must have dog item.
i have three of these, one for each car. pup loves having water in her seat or at the park or at a rest stop or who knows where. safe to travel in the car without spillage. this is a must have for dogs that travel in your car.also if your dog likes to dig in water dishes, this is my water digging labs fav to actually drink from. anything else and she is swimming in a bowl but she actually drinks this and doesnt try to go swimming..the in laws mini schnauzers also approve of this.
